The Hard-Covered Question

Alright two quick things. Or maybe one quick thing and then a longer thing.

1) If you haven't noticed already I fucked up and shipped the Feb Cover in Jan >_> so I guess in Feb I'll be shipping the January cover. As for the questions as to why there's so many issues with shipping XD well a) I'm an idiot and b) we ship something like 2-300 books a month which for n00bs is kinda a feat so. Um yeah, not an excuse but just a note of where we always focus our efforts to improve.

2) Okay so I've been one of those people who's pretty much Anti-Kickstarter and Anti-Indiegogo. My test IGG (Take the Money and Run) still hasn't paid out, though I've already fulfilled the tiers XD.) taught me a couple things and I may have to do a test Kickstarter to see how that backend works. Je me rends. But what I really wanted to talk about is Hard Covers. See, I've managed to be successful by avoiding some of the higher cost printing. yes foil prints are awesome, but buying gin bulk and then storing it...yeah notsomuch. So Hard Covers, not going to hide this, but just to get about 200 it would cost us $7k. And right now Print Ninja is shutdown due to the Corona Virus (but most importantly I refuse to use chinese printers cause fuck it this is America!) and there are still some local options I NEED to explore.
There is, also the lulu option, which as we all saw their quality is lacking, their mailing sucks and overall its terribly sub-par. But it is an low cost option. I'm debating on whether or not I should launch a campaign just for the Hard Covers. Or set a Patreon Goal. Because honestly, that $7k cost only covers the printing of the book and not the shipping (international not even calculated).
So yeah, that's kinda where we're stuck at.
Before you suggest the AP option, the concern there is what we'd have to give up in return. And I've already given up enough to them than I was comfortable with.
Before you suggest we utilize our newfound French Publisher, I don't trust them. >_>for now.

AND finally minor notes:
3) Apparently we have a Patreon community page. just an FYI I don't get notifications if people post there. Also, navigating to get there is a pain in the ass from both ends. So the best way to contact us will always be through discord or PMs.
4) We're going to (again) be updating our verbage because it all seems to still be confusing to some people in regards to tiers, rewards, shipping etc.  The thing to remember is that Patreon is NOT Kickstarter or Indiegogo. Patreon is more of building a community based around a project, rather than just getting to checkout and bouncing. I'll probably do a more indepth update on this later but I'm working on language to make it clear what this is, our intentions over, what to expect etc. Remember we went from "lol webcomic" to "holy fuck print and ship shit with tracking and omfg merch we gotta send merch" in very short amount of time. So with Issue 7 coming up soon (expect more updates) we're hoping for more breathing room to start ordering some new cool shit, like...Medals =)
