I only just saw this today. Ended up reading the two offerings and I liked it. Sure, some of the commentary on QQ was insightful, but at the same time, this is an effective AU and the concept makes total sense in context. I would definitely read more if it the muse took you in that direction. Or, if you changed it up. Either way, I'm probably, going to be influenced by some of the ideas presented in here in my own fic, because the idea of prevention of future heartbreak is kind of a really good one. There has to be ways, or what civilization survives, right? It's like the Porn Logic civilizations either have to have longer days, in order to accomodate the stops in time necessary for all the sex OR they have to have suppressants that people actively use to modify behavior so that the functioning society can work. (And likely, other kinds of things too, but that's off the top of my head). I think the idea of a religious order being a thing that is designed to assist in keeping the foundations of society rolling works. Anyhow, I move away from the point, which is that I enjoyed what I read and should you ever decide to return to the concept, I'm sure I'll enjoy seeing more. - Sometimes it's not about popularity, but what entertains the artist/author while they work. IMHO of course. :)
