Weekly update time!

In summary:

– Unfortunately did not start on Chapter 15 of the MMO series!

– Made a lot of progress on the next animation!

– Had to start on another animation despite not being done with the next!

– Managed to practice drawing some gestures and colour!

– I have decided to discontinue the monthly newsletters on FANBOX. Instead, I’ll place the discount codes and links in each weekly update.

- MMOシリーズ第15章は残念ながら未着手でした

MMO Series Update | MMOシリーズの進歩:

My sincerest apologies, but unfortunately I did not make any progress for the MMO series this week! I had hoped to finish the fan animation that I’m currently working on by the end of this week, but alas, it is still not done.

The plan was to release the fan animation this week, and then immediately start working on the next animation which would help to promote the Puss plush that’s currently on sale, and because the plush is only on sale for a limited time, it was very important to me to stick to this release schedule. However, I underestimated how difficult it was to animate certain scenes in the fan animation (I’ll explain more in the “animation” section below) which ended up taking more time to finish, thus eating into the time I would have otherwise spent on the MMO series this week.

Once again, my apologies for delaying the completion of these chapters.

大変申し訳ないのですが、残念ながら今週はMMOシリーズが全く進みませんでした 現在制作中のファンアニメーションを今週中に完成させたいと思っていたのですが、残念ながらまだ完成していません。

予定では、今週中にファン・アニメーションをリリースして、すぐに現在発売中のプッスのぬいぐるみを宣伝するための次のアニメーションに取りかかるつもりでしたし、ぬいぐるみは期間限定発売なので、このリリース・スケジュールを守ることがとても重要だったんです。しかし、ファン・アニメーションのあるシーンのアニメーションがいかに難しいか（詳しくは後述の「アニメーション」のセクションで説明します）、私は過小評価していたため、完成までにさらに時間がかかり、今週はMMOシリーズに費やせたはずの時間を食いつぶしてしまったのです。

もう一度、これらの章の完成が遅れていることをお詫びします。

Animation Update | アニメの進捗:

As mentioned earlier though, despite the progress for this fan animation going smoothly, there has been some obstacles.

しかし、前述したように、このファンアニメの進行は順調なのだが、いくつかの障害があった。

In case you couldn’t guess who this individual is, he’s Vesper Noir, a V-Tuber who recently debuted under the Hololive Production agency. Please give his content a look, it’s chill but great!

ホロライブプロダクションからデビューしたV-Tuber、Vesper Noir（ノワール・ヴェスパー）です。彼のコンテンツは冷静でありながら素晴らしいので、ぜひ見てみてください。

While I anticipated that certain scenes would be a little difficult to animate, I did NOT expect them to be so difficult that it would’ve taken as much time as they did. This head tilt is one example. Despite it being done, I’m still not too satisfied with the perspective on certain areas of the head. Perhaps I was overconfident with this angle.

アニメーションが少し難しいシーンがあることは想定していましたが、これほど時間がかかるとは思っていませんでした。この首の傾きはその一例です。せっかく作ったのに、頭のある部分のパースにはまだあまり納得していません。このアングルを過信していたのかもしれません。

This shot of the character running and jumping is another example.

このキャラクターが走り、ジャンプしているショットもその一例です。

The amount of redos and edits I made to get this one shot correct almost made me insane. I’m glad I have recorded footage of the process so I can show you in the next Rando’s Ramble. I still have a couple more shots to outline, but I’m confident I can get it done by early/mid next week! Please look forward to it!

However, despite not being done with this animation, I have begun the next one as it pertains to the Puss plush campaign that’s currently on-going!

しかし、今のアニメはまだ終わっていませんが、現在進行中のプッスのぬいぐるみセールに関連して、次のアニメを始めました!

It’s just a short parody of the “Sad Cat Dance” meme that’s been going around. Allow me to clarify, this animation is not a paid promotion or anything, I just wanted to make this for fun and to place a short reminder at the end to get a Puss plush for those that haven’t already! Perhaps I should’ve prioritised this over the fan animation, haha!

Oh well. I hope you look forward to this too!

これは、巷で流行っている「悲しい猫のダンス」ミームの短いパロディなんだ。このアニメーションは有料プロモーションでもなんでもなく、ただ面白半分に作ったもので、最後にまだ買っていない人にプッスのぬいぐるみを買ってもらうための短いリマインダーを置きたかっただけなのです。ファンアニメよりこっちを優先すべきだったかもしれませんね。

まあ、いいや。皆さんも楽しみにしていてくださいね。

Warm Ups + Studies | ウォームアップとスタディ:

Once again, I’ve managed to practice gestures consistently this week, which felt good. This week’s colour study wasn’t too bad as well, but I’ll keep practising. However, I realised that I’m quite uncertain with the human form whenever I try to capture a pose during practice, so I might start substituting certain days to study the human form instead as I feel that I might need to improve in that area. Nonetheless, I’ll keep trying!

今週もまた、コンスタントにジェスチャーを練習することができ、気持ちよかったです。今週の色彩学習も悪くなかったが、これからも練習を続けていこうと思う。しかし、練習中にポーズを描こうとすると、人間の形を描くのがかなり不安だということに気づいたので、ある日からジェスチャーではなく、人間の形を勉強する日に代えようかと思う。とはいえ、これからも頑張ります。
