Differences & Solutions.

Hey everyone!

Just wanted to update all of you on my findings of how differently this platform operates from Patreon, and what it means for rewards/content moving forward.

So these are the main differences I found, and here's what they affect:

1 - FANBOX doesn't have a 'Private Message all your followers' option, meaning releasing rewards every month via a private message is no longer possible.

2 - However, FANBOX allows an upload of 1 file with a maximum of 300mb per post, including zip files.

3 - FANBOX doesn't have a 'pin post' option as of yet, so updates on the latest MMO chapter's progress will eventually get buried in the timeline despite updating the post individually.

4 - FANBOX does not allow pledges beyond the amount displayed for a tier. 100 yen means 100 yen.

I've spent the last few days thinking on how to work around these differences, and these are the solutions I'm gonna try out for now:

- Keeping The Old Release Schedule For Illustrations; I'll post a smaller (watermarked) resolution image publicly whenever an illustration is done, but release the behind-the-scenes content (Step-By-Steps, Timelapse, Bigger Resolution Image without Watermarks) in a separate post at the end of the month.

- Illustration Rewards; At the end of every month, I'll make a separate 'rewards' post for an illustration and attach the respective behind-the-scenes content in that post. FANBOX allows a file upload of up to 300mb per post, meaning I (hopefully) won't have to use Google Drive to share rewards anymore. Hopefully this makes it easier for you guys to download the extra content. **Rewards for one illustration is released each month, this way there'll always be content every month.**

- Gumroad Discount Codes; A post containing the month's discount code will be made at the end of the month, alongside the 'illustration rewards' post.

- Warm-Up doodles; Warm-ups (if there are any) are uploaded at the end of the week to avoid daily spam. My apologies, I'm trying to get into the habit of making them regularly again.

- Progress for 'MMO?!'; I'll link the post to the latest MMO chapter progress in the main description, that way you can always find the post without getting lost. Early releases for chapters will still have their own individual posts when the chapter is done.

- Fixed prices for pledges; While I appreciate you wanting to support me beyond the 100 yen on this site, I think this is something that's good for the long run. I mean.. MAYBE you can spend the rest of your money on some other RandoWis related thing in the future..?

- Other content; For now, Animations (including rewards) and Comics that I create will have a post made here whenever they're done.

From my observation of other artists on this platform, it seems that the intent of this platform is to be more "casual interaction between creator and supporter", and less "pledge for rewards". At least that's the intent I'm getting, and I'm pretty sure it's the exact same intent many of you have when supporting RandoWis. Apologies for not getting it into my stubborn-ass head despite the repeated attempts all of you have made to drill it in.

Anyway, that's it from me for now!

I'll make the 'MMO Progress' post soon and link it in the main description. I also plan to re-post the rewards for the 'Amirul The Magician' illustration as a test (I'll compress all the behind-the-scenes content into a single zip file and upload it into a single post).

Keep a lookout for those!

If you have any feedback/suggestions/criticisms, feel free to speak your mind in the comments below!

As always, thank you for your love and support!

Love you much much, and I'll see you in the next post!

Make a onlyfans account in that case :v (?) Jokes on the side is better that way of spending the money on merchandise on the long run and some other commissions you can make i see a lot of artist doing this and dont bother anymore with patreon

I second that.

Randowis related products in the future? See, I'm down like a lot of others to buy merch and would happily do so if I can't give more. Other than that, this place seems... Kinda limited? Simplistic? In regards to files and rewards and having to work out new ways to post, you could always use the Discord, change the patreon channel into a Rando Update and Archive room? Would there be a way to set things up, on Randowis. Com so it had the features of Patreon? Just an idea I guess. Looking forward to more streams and art!

Just wanted to say heya Rando, I'll continue helping to support all of your creative endeavours no matter what crowdfunding website you're on :3 Keep up the good work foo

Maybe you could, like some creators on other platforms, create tiers more expensive that give nothing more in return, just to allow those who want to, to give you more. I know you're reluctant to do this, but we want to support you !
