Hey All!
Following up on the mountain of feedback I got for the Alternate Fighter update I posted last week, I thought these changes deserved their own standalone update. Not sure when I’ll get around to doing another major Alternate Fighter update after this one (it’d been over a year since the last update!) so I want to make sure I get this right.
This update is rolling back some of my overzealous changes from the past update, and fixing/standardizing a few things that I’d overlooked.

Alternate Fighter v3.4.0
Second Wind / Extra Attack (Dodge) / Action Surge:
While fun options, I think, the changes I made to these features were a bit over the top. While they may have been good ideas for “lasers & llamas”, I think they were too strong for 5e.
Eye for Talent:
To prevent constant spam of this ability (slowing down the game), once you fail your Search check against a creature, you can’t use this on that creature again until you finish a long rest.
Martial Superiority:
While I still think the Fighter needed a boost at 11th level to take them into the “late game”, the previous version was a bit too strong. This version accomplishes the same thing in a more balanced way.
Fighting Styles:
I made a number of tweaks to the Fighting Styles and new “Expert” Fighting Styles to keep them fun flavorful improvements to the Fighter without pushing the class over the top.
Knight Errant:
This subclass got trimmed back a bit - I love defensive/supportive archetypes and I think I over-buffed this subclass a bit.

Second Wind // Reverted to previous Alt Fighter version. Was too strong at low levels and too weak at higher levels.
Martial Exploits // Exploits Known // You learn a final 11th Exploit at 19th level.
Eye for Talent // If you fail the check you can’t use it again on that creature.
Extra Attack // Removed Dodge as an option.
Action Surge // Removed extra uses with Exhaustion.
Martial Superiority // Now one free 1st/2nd degree Exploit per round.
Balanced Fighting // Renamed (Dueling). (I’ve wanted to do this for a while now).
Classical Swordplay // Rewritten to be more concise and less confusing.
Defensive Fighting // No longer works with only a shield.
Defensive Expert // Reworked around your reaction.
Dual Wielding // Can now get this with 13 Strength.
Great Weapon Expert // Removed bonus attack on a crit. You can use this as many times as you can keep killing creatures.
Polearm Fighting // Disallowed shields.
Protection Expert // Now you have a reaction to buff DEX saves.
Knight Errant // Trained Knight // Cut free Mounted Warrior Fighting Style.
Knight Errant // Noble Guardian // Reworded for clarity.
Master at Arms // Combat Theorist // Bonus reduced to Exploit Die.
Master at Arms // Legendary Superiority // Updated with base class changes
Exploits // Standardized “damage of your weapon attack” language for Volley, Whirlwind Strike, and Thunderous Shot.
Exploits // Mythic Athleticism // Added back concentration requirement.
Runecarver // Rune Carver // Replaced calligrapher’s supplies with mason’s tools.
