Alternate Warlock Class - ALPHA Version!

Hey all!

I've got an exciting update for you all today - a 1-20 version of the Alt Warlock!

Included here is the full 1-20 Alternate Warlock Class, 30 reworked Eldritch Invocations, 4 Otherworldly Patrons, 3 Eldritch Foci, and 12 NEW Elder Arcanums.

As always, feedback and constructive criticism are welcome in the comments.

Intelligence-based // Returning to the traditional (and my personal favorite) take on the Warlock, the class has shifted to be a seeker of forbidden knowledge!

Invocation-focused // Spellcasting and your Otherworldly Patron choice have been moved back, and there is a greater focus on your Invocations. Gather minor fragments of lore before you move on to the "big leagues" with a Patron.

Eldritch Blast // Now a class feature! It is (optionally) modified by your Patron.

Otherworldly Patrons // I've included four reworked/new Patrons here. The classic three: Archfey, Fiend, and Great Old One, along with my own Ancient Wyrm (dragon) Patron for Warlocks that just want to blow stuff up.

Patron Spells // You now automatically learn your Patron spells, but to compensate your Spells Known has dropped (you still have more spells).

Pact Focus // Rebranded and reworked versions of everyone's favorite Pact Boons! Hexblade and Agonizing Blast have been cannibalized, and familiars can cast Warlock spells (with your help of course).

Empowered Blast // Eldritch Blast now scales with your Warlock level!

Elder Arcanum // Replacing the Mystic Arcanums of old, this new feature allows you to choose features other than high-level spellcasting. Included here are options that buff Blade-Warlocks and Familiar-Warlocks. Tome is focused on spellcasting, so I thought the traditional Mystic Arcanums would be fine here.

Pact Master // Regain your Pact Slots as an action!

Spells // The Warlock spell list has been updated (See Below), I've added a few of my own original spells (otherworldly grasp, ghastly flight, flaming whip, spiritual sundering), and reworked some of the underwhelming Warlock spells (friends, witch bolt, hunger of hadar, eldritch tentacles).

Eldritch Familiars // I've included four Familiars with the base class (that happen to match up with the subclasses, this will not be happening for every subclass). These scale with your Warlock level so they remain useful!

I have a suggestion, what if the subclasses gained a 3rd lvl feature that gave them special invocations based on the Pact Boon they take? Ex. A Celestial Warlock that took the Pact of the Chain could gain a special subclass invocation that let's their familiar use a Celestial Familiar stat block.

I’m personally not a big fan of flexible casting stats. I may add it as a variant rule, but I much prefer for my brews to have a tighter theme/mechanics pairing. The Warlock I’m designing is very much an occult seeker of forbidden knowledge. At 1st level, your Warlock powers come from the various invocations you’ve cobbled together and you make your formal Pact at 2nd level. You can always flavor your Warlock as having made your Pact before that though.

Would it be possible to have the warlock use any of the three mental stats as their casting stat? At the end of the day warlocks are people who've been bestowed power by an outside force, and how and why that happened isn't the same for all of them. Intelligence makes sense for an occultist type making in-depth research on forbidden magic, but might not be the best for the cult leader who reveres their patron as an ancient god nor for the paragon who didn't actually search for their patron, but the patron was the one who chose them. I would have tied the distinction on the patron, but that isn't possible since you moved the patron to level 2. Speaking of... Is there really no way to put the patron back to level 1? I feel like it's way too integral to each warlock's identify to be left for later. One should never be a generic warlock, just like you cannot be a cleric of nothing or a sorcerer with no blood line.
