Dear patrons,
I hope you're all hale and happy! I've been working away on this ambient tavern track, although calling it ambient doesn't quite capture the vibe. My intention was to create a soundscape and record a handful of pieces to layer on top, making the listener feel as if they were sitting at a table listening to the band play in the corner. I've created about 10 minutes of content, but I'm hoping to double that so that the whole thing can be looped. It'll be excellent D&D background music, or you can listen to it when you're cleaning the kitchen and pretending to be a tavern-keeper.
So far it's a mixture of folk tunes such as Hen Ferchetan and The Parson's Farewell, and an instrumental version of my piece Hearth Song. I'm hoping to create a few more originals to round it all out, but if you have any folk song suggestions I'm open!
Also a special thanks to my step-mom (not evil like in the fairytales, quite the opposite) for lending her mandolin skills to the first song. She doesn't have a stage name yet, but we're working on it.
In other news, I will be going on hiatus from Patreon for one to two months. I just accepted work creating concept art for a video game (apologies, I can't say more than that), but when I return I will share the full length version of this track, and get back to making some new Bardcore covers.
Thanks for your support and hope to see you after the break!
PS: I somehow made this a "drop" and it won't be live until a little later today, and I can't figure out how to make it a normal post. Proof that I truly am from a time before modern technology.
