What's in a Name?
Added 2023-12-12 16:11:21 +0000 UTCFirst, updates – I'm in the final editing stages of Once an Idol Ch. 02. Should be up here in a couple of days for you to enjoy. It's pretty hot. Then I'm on to Matched with Mom Ch. 02!
Some of you have asked me if there's any specific reason that I've chosen 'Depravio' as my nome de plume.
It started out as a throwaway handle for when I posted Chapter 1 of Breeding the Help on Literotica. It was a very raw, very lewd, wonderful piece of filth that went against a lot of societal norms. I had no idea how it'd be received, and even less that it would explode in popularity. It's close to 700K views now and will probably pass a million in a year or so. That shit still blows my mind.
As you may have guessed, Depravio means 'Depraved'. It just kind of popped into my head during username creation along with this Marquis de Sade vibe, hence the avatar.
De Sade, of course, who was famous for thoughts like:
'If it is the dirty element that gives pleasure to the act of lust, then the dirtier it is, the more pleasurable it is bound to be.'
and
'When she's abandoned her moral center and teachings...when she's cast aside her facade of propriety and lady-like demeanor...when I have so corrupted this fragile thing and brought out a writhing, mewling, bucking, wanton whore for my enjoyment and pleasure...enticing from within this feral lioness...growling and scratching and biting...taking everything I dish out to her...at that moment she is never more beautiful to me.'
In some ways, at my most depraved, we're very much kindred spirits. And while I'm more of a love-and-lust guy myself, I've found I'm most centered when the erotica I write is raw and visceral, yet also directed by passionate emotion.
The avatar I use has more meaning than the name. Sure, I could have made mine a giant dick or a pair of tits, but I wanted something classier and more mysterious that romanticized the time of de Sade's illicit writing – and all of it behind the masquerade.

De Sade, in all his horror and outright Luciferian evil, struck truth in that quote, as the villain often does. No story is complete without a villain in my mind, because it's his part to speak the truths too vile for the hero's lips. The avatar, before the name, is what drew me to you the most by the way. The moment I saw it I felt like a chord had been struck. Sorry, its late, and I'm tired. Work tomorrow. Be well my friend.
