Yes, I actually checked eBay just out of curiosity and there’s quite a few around $100. I grabbed one for $100 taxed and shipped. Surprising since eBay is usually a little more expensive but I guess stores are still having trouble moving these boxes. Despite only 7 cards per pack, they pack a punch with some good value even on uncommons. The singles sell very well on TCGplayer.

Sometimes he advertises in advance but not always. Each Friday and Sunday at 9 PM ET, he will have a special sale featuring a product for one of the various CCGs (F&B, Magic, Pokemon, etc.) and typically there are varying by amounts you can purchase with the price/product lowering the more you buy.

But the full story books were in the fat packs. I luckily have almost a full set of the books with some duplicates, although some of the books are still in unopened fat packs. I have Torment, Onslaught, Judgment, Prophecy, Nemesis, Mercadian Masques, Odyssey. I used to love collecting the fat packs. That was until Rudy suggested not to collect them because they take up too much room vs. a booster box. He was right. So now I only pick 1 or 2 for each set.

2025-01-30 22:15:41 +0000 UTCcause edgar markov is mtg and the one ring is mtg AND lord of the rings which is significantly more collectible. more people follow the lord of the rings story and lore and LOTR is on a whole different level. idk who follows mtg story and lore but probably not a ton. wizards honestly doesn't do a good job pushing the mtg story alongside the product. if they did people would connect with these characters a lot more and maybe they would pay more for the special versions of cards. for example back in the 90s when you bought a tempest starter deck or maybe it was the precon deck they gave you a little storybook with it that went through the lore and characters. to this day just from reading that I like those characters (gerrard, mirri, crovax, volrath etc...) 100x more than any other characters because it created a connection. they need to fuse story back into the products and get people better connected again. I don't ever get the urge to search for the story personally. but if they include it I'll read it. like wizards should take those art cards and gold stamped ones and print lore and story on the back of them. maybe then there would actually be a market for them. to this day i love cards that have lore on them below the card text. people just like to play magic and edgar markov is an amazing commander. also, IMO the true collector pieces in magic are the vintage hand drawn art from the 90's. I'll buy a $1 sheltered valley from alliances and a $.50 cent Festival from the dark before any of the art on these newer cards.

Today, Innistrad remastered cards tanked and probably won’t rebound for any real money anytime soon because everyone ripped cases of product chasing Edgar and found they have too many poster cards in every box with 3 to 5 different printings of all the chase cards. 2. First ever chase cards in history. Masterpiece era, BFZ, aether, kaladesh, amonkhet, Hour of devastation cards. Most of these cards in all of these sets aren’t high value cards. Not because there aren’t good playable cards on these sets it’s just everyone heavily ripped packs chasing the masterpieces. 1, that caused all cards to run to the bottom as the market was flooded and became bulk. And there was about 30-50 absolutely beautiful masterpiece chase cards that were about 1 pulled per entire case of draft booster. Yes know it was possible to pull one in a bundle but was super rare. And for 15 years Sol ring masterpiece was the most expensive sol ring out of any would ring printed. Which is almost printed as much as evolving wilds. So if you need a sol ring for your deck you can get one for $0.25 all day long. But if you want The One golden child sol ring masterpiece you’re going to drop a paycheck, minimum. And you could open 20 cases of Kaladesh and pull 20 masterpieces and still not pull a sol ring. $$$$$$$$ ps I still think this particular card is way underpriced. but we don’t know how many truly got printed and there is no serial numbers. 3. Recent history collector era. LOTR special ed. This product had 10-15 serialized poster art with poster foils and non foils of the same version. Average price of these cards is around $150. And the collector boxes are $1300+. These boxes were a limited run, with serialized cards in them. Yes they banned one ring in modern and caused the price to go down from the $2000 high per box. And most of the serialized cards are very expensive, $1000’s of dollars per serialized card. And most of these cards are ehh, not bad, playable, good cards. Right 4. Edgar Markov? The value of Edgar has raced to the bottom because not there are 500-1000 different copies for sale online, not including what game stores have on the shelf and not counting how many are in play boosters that haven’t even been opened. So the showcase foil alternate art version is probably the best casual, affordable, playable, in deck card available to buy. And will most likely stay affordable. The question…..why is a serialized Edgar Markov, 1 of 500, Teir one CEDH commander not priced to The One Ring Serialized price?? Or higher?? This is a holy grail card!! There are not any non serialized posters foil or non foil in the set for Edgar like the one ring or Tom bombadill or Sauron. How many EDH players have or want to build an Edgar deck, casual or competitive. Now, how many cases, just on YouTube alone, how many cases upon cases of $300 collector boxes have been opened with zero serialized rainbow foiled poster Edgar’s??? So you open $8000 worth of collector boxes and you have NO serialized Edgar?? And it’s selling for $3000 on eBay??? That is INSANE!!!!!

2025-01-25 01:12:49 +0000 UTCI'm not sure if I'm using and reading MTG stocks correnctly, but their prices don't seem corrent. WoE is at $61 which seems really low. Bloomburrow at $409? That seems really high. I guess I don't know how they are calculating their prices. I'm primarily buying as either to invest and hold or to open immediately to increase my small inventory on TCGplayer and ebay that I'm working on. The amount of people I know that play MTG is unfortunately almost non existent and I just go to pre-releases these days whenever they happen every 2-3 months.

The way I look at it is diversification to protect yourself. So long as 60% of your boxes go up the few that go down are covered. To start with I would recommend buying the oldest boxes and ones that are soon to go out of print or no longer offered.

The difference is the card distribution. If it says to comment then comment if it doesn’t then just send payment. If your payment doesn’t sync up with your patreon info leave a note. If you pay for the monthly boxes then put a note on what ones you want and how many of each.
