It was a fun short ride. My job cut my hours 60% and landlord raised the rent by 25% shortly after I signed up for patreon. Sad to leave, but things change. Enjoy the tacos.

I saw a sorcery box in the background of his recent video and wept a little inside. Than I remembered that he is The great and all powerful Rudy and he gets what he wants when he wants it. And us little people have to look up and be happy for what scraps he deems to give us.

My issue is with the perversion of the source material. Hasbro/Wizards doesn't actually care about diversity, inclusion or anyone's cultural heritage. All they see is a convenient way to exploit the current Zeitgeist and align themselves on whatever side of the social narrative is gonna bring in more cash. Rudy himself has said many times that Hasbro/Wizards is a business first and foremost. They exist not to make us all feel warm and fuzzy inside or to grow and cultivate a wonderful, loving community of basement dwelling Timmys. They exist to make MONEY. The problem is that Magic has lost the magic. Hasbro knows this. Wizards knows this. But instead of trying to do something new and unique with the plethora of original material available to them, they decide to corrupt and ruin properties that good forces have already made. I am not going to touch anything Hasbro/Wizards releases until there is a paradigm shift in the philosophy they use to guide their company.

Tolkien warned us about organizations like Hasbro when he wrote, “Evil cannot create anything new, they can only corrupt and ruin what good forces have invented or made.” I want to enjoy this LOTR set more than ANYTHING. But I cannot in good conscience support the product. A man has to have principles. Daddy's gonna go balls deep in Weiss, Metazoo and Pokemon instead. Y'all can have fun with those buster ass booster boxes.

I hope "Lord of The Rings" is a good set. As a hardcore childhood fan of LOTR, my gut is telling me that there is a lot of hype due to pop culture media at the moment. So Hasbro is taking an opportunity to bring in new customers. That being said, I think the set is going to have a few story-driven cards, while the rest will likely be reprints that will end up as bulk cards. To sum it up, I believe this set will cater more to collectors than the current player base. Because of my personal emotional attachment to LOTR, this set will be a rare case where if I open up cards with no value, I probably won't be too upset about it.
