Yeah, the packaging is basically a rounding error in the overall price. And for something that is kind of meant to be kept as a set, it makes sense to have a nice box to keep it all together.

I'm not sure how I feel about this promo. I'd of rather had less expensive packaging, and the card at 100-300. The value on ebay might fetch a little less, but the cost would become affordable.

I suggest making a paper mache / piñata of the planeswalker symbol, mana symbols, WPN logo etc. Then spray on adhesive to the thing and roll it around in the remains of the destroyed promo. If you do a piñata, fill it junk dice that comes with the collections you buy. When your son get older to game, he can smack the piñata filled with dice.
