Most sealed mtg topped out in early March and has been steady or dropping a bit as Rudy mentioned. This started well before the crypto crash so not sure they are exactly related (though makes sense if they are). The only sealed to do well lately is the more recently out of print boxes that Rudy hyped up recently :) Either way, this is expected as the outrageous10-25% month over month steady climb had to level off at some point.

New, inexperienced, entrants are a reason. Revised is also circuit breakers being tripped. That doppleganger or shivan dragon isnt as rare you think it is. There is a ton of product out there. ABU on other hand will be stready.

Buy/colllect/invest in what you like. That being said, with the expendable income drying up “cook groups” will also be less bullish on tcg/ccg products, leaving a larger supply. We’re leaving the “quick flip, large profits” market. Welcome to the mid-long range hold gang.

First pay down/off margin/leverage... Then circle the wagons... Finally buy the dip after paper hands regurgitate product

Kingdoms is the next FAB set.

All of these points are interesting. 1. Unlimited resolves issues with the "investor's game". Ask LSS why they don't make more 1st edition. Just silly that they offer the "unlimited" is coming excuse. Manufactured scarcity is a risky risk. They should be selling to the demand of their audience and let their game stand for itself. Maybe too risky? 2. Seems to me a 10 ungraded card today is likely to be a 10 graded card tomorrow. What's the rush to get it graded? Beckett and PSA can grade them 10 years from now for all I care. 3. Too many people? Or not nearly as much as there will be in the future.

Honestly, I hope there is a dip for Flesh and Blood soon. Too many people still consider it an investors game. That mindset will strangle the game near the point of no return. The adoption is still going strong, but I’m hearing stores are still hesitant on carrying the product due to the secondary market and supply issues. The situation with Dragons Den didn’t help. I agree that it aligns with the crypto market, but it also aligns with the country getting vaccinated and somewhat back to normal. It’s not just happening in FAB or Magic, but in Pokémon as well. You’ve also got the great graded card crash on the horizon too. Beckett just announced they are closing shop starting June 7th on anything other than Premium orders as well. Pretty interesting stuff.

Not sure why people are surprised. I always figured that after they slowed down the Free Money everything would take a hit. I don’t think Crypto and Collectibles are connected. I think they both are suffering from the Free Money not being available. People are clamming up on their cash because there’s a lot of uncertainty.

FAB is tanking because supply is INSANE. There are already 4x the number of sales of Monarch 1st edition boxes in less than a month than any other 1st edition FAB set. Just like every card game, when you don’t know supply you’re fully in speculation investments. Historical investments when print runs are DONE are much safer and perform MUCH better

I don't give sound financial advice and should be ignored. He's right unless the fixed interest rate + net investment value is below inflation. Personal loans are what 2.5%? Add appreciation to whatever you correctly speculated on; Isn't that greater than expected 3% inflation? I mean, seems like anything at 2.5% interest that doesn't lose value is at best a non-loss if interest rates are above 2.5%. I think you are right though, probably much safer to not invest in collectibles on leverage. No such thing as a sure thing, after all. economy could very well go ballistic and defy almost everyone's predictions.

Ya, the 25th anniversary set is around the corner. Chilling Reign And Eevee Heros/Evolving Skies looking promising.

I think you may have been sipping a little too much on the cheap stuff. This is silly talk. Soft? Come on. FAB's on the precipice of going huge and people are talking soft? Nonsense. RL flat? Okay, a bit but that's good for a new floor. I dare say low end RL is primed for another surge; and imminent. Some recent draft sealed is dropping but that looks like someone found a pile of boxes like War of the Spark in their closet that they forgot was there. Don't know about the Crypto. I deal in tangibles.

If you are a patron investing in collectibles on leverage, you should go back and watch Rudy's entire backlog of videos and understand why that's an terrible idea.

I feel like it may be a sideways/slightly downward movement on sealed product overall; I saw english WAR boxes selling for $110-130 on ebay, down from the $150-160 they were at like, 3/4 months ago. I suspect people got all FOMO buying everything out with their extra stimmy/bonus unemployment (I personally was able to work AND collect the UI bonus because my state has partial unemployment and I was only getting 20-30 hour), but now that states are kicking people off unemployment, those who maybe went harder into product than they should have are selling off (possibly at a loss). I avoided this myself by more or less sticking to what I could afford without having the bonus income

it wont refund you. That is the way Patreon works. Even if you sign up 1 minute before midnight on the 30/31st, you will be charged again on the 1st. This isnt a Rudy decision but a Patreon process.

Same here, my sales dumped when crypto dumped and my sales were higher when crypto was higher. There is a very strong link atm between the two.
