As a matter of fact... my lgs focuses more on board games they always have to check tcg for prices but I got him to come off 4 relics $650.00 a piece without checking the prices. Think this is going to be my first big win.

I found 2 ftv 20's for $100 each. We'll see if Rudy was right

I bought a bunch of Legends from Star City Games a year and a half ago for about $90 each, and had been selling them off one at at time, and just sold one for $300, and thought that was high...but I guess, Rudy thinks that's Below the Floor.

At least the Angels and Legends I already had did go up after Rudy let the cat out of the bag.

Well, I know WHO bought all the Relics I Saw on sale on TCG Player for $700 a few weeks or so ago. I got ONE of those, then saw Rudy's Video with the Realms boxes in the background and new the jig was up, and went on TCGPlayer and they were gone, all Relics were up over $1000 and near $2000 on Ebay.

Interesting how the prices are now where Rudy thinks they should be. Congratulations Rudy, you now control the secondary market price points. This is the third time in the last quarter that you have set the market.

Scoured the internet for a couple hours Saturday night, managed to get a Transform for $85.99...score one for a new Timmy!

I just scored a LORE for $50

I just can't bring myself to buy in at the new $600 price tag. Rudy tends to have more good predictions than not, but while a $200 cost basis is for sure low risk, $600 is too much risk for me personally. That said.... now let's see if the store actually fulfills my order. I won't be too surprised to wake to tomorrow to a cancellation email when the store looks up Realms and sees its new price. LoL

My LGSs don't carry anything that far back, but one I know in another state has a few. I'm picking up a Transform and a Realms, though the prices aren't fantastic: $200 on Transform, $600 on Realms. Here's hoping Rudy's price estimates are sensible. This is a financial reach for me, but I'm expecting to hold onto each for a few years before flipping it, so plenty of time for it to appreciate more naturally as well.

I went to my local LGS and I bought some boxes of Lore, Twenty, Annhilation, and Transform. I was surprised he had so many still on sale. Sadly he didn't have any of the 1st-5th releases. Just Twenty and rest of 6-10. The store owner asked me why I was buying them and I told them a magic guru with a pink visor told me to :-) Needless to say, he's going to mark up the remaining boxes.

Went to buy ftv product three days ago from my LGS and angels was 300 , decided to call around and all the stores that had them already marked them up.

thank you rudy, bought a pair of legends an realms under the card's sum price after the first video tip. to be blunt i think all ftv are great but it bothers me how FTV DRAGONS, ev 36 euro (cardmarket prices ) could go to 1k (839€) a x23 increase... i calculated card's sum for every FTV here in europe: EXILED €220 LEGENDS €115 REALMS €122 TRANSFORM €80 LORE €40 ANGELS €45 TWENTY €88 RELICS €550 ANNIHILATION €27 looking EG at relics i don't think a more than x5/x6 could be feasible pick your poison :D

Bought a realms today on Tcg. 600. I also BELIVE that is undervalued.

Hey Rudy, I know of a game store that has an online presence that lists inventory of 2 - 5 of just about all the FtV series at prices far below what you listed. I don't have the funds to clean them out, so if you want to know what this store is, PM me.

The sellers of these on TCG must be Patrons.. prices are starting to match this list exactly lol

Figured this makes sense. Found a Legends at my LGS for pretty cheap--worth a shot!

So crazy I ordered FtV online from a local game store and went to pick them up. Told I purchased over the allotment I can only get 4 each. Even though my wife was there I could only get 4. List at $75 for lore and $85 for transform. I said fine my wife will place an online order. Thats when I released he had increased prices to $160 and $170 respectively online while i was standing at the counter. Very shady business practices. All good got those 8 and a realms for $800 total not terrible.

I like this. Was there any mystery cards in the ftv? I think that is what really gives the sealed product a 10x multiplier the gambling effect. The hunt and chase. With secret lair sealed you still get a mystery card in most cases. If there is no mystery card you are sorta just buying multiple cards so you should get a discount at a micro scale. If you are cherry-picking a single you should pay a premium. But rarity is definitely a thing on these print runs.

I’ve been wanting ftv relics for a couple years now and after the battlebond opening video, I’ve been waking up thinking about it. A couple days ago I knew of a store that had it so I went ahead and bought it for 750 before tax. The employee called me crazy but also told me that for the last 4 years it’s been sitting on the shelf, it’s historically never went down in price. Plus he also told me the price is what scared most people from buying it lol. It was at a video game store on the bad side of town.

Hey Rudy, small correction, while Annihilation was the most printed one, it was actually third to last. They toned them down afterwards. It actually went Annihilation, Lore, and Transform.

I had actually taken notice of the discrepancy between sealed box pricing and singles value over the last few months as well. Except for Dragons, the arbitrage opportunity was insane. I had actually been planning on making a post about this alerting everyone to it, but real life got in the way of me getting it done. Good thing I didn't, or it may have messed up your grand plan, Rudy!! ;)

ehhh...i agree i think a 4x multiple level is pretty high but i think 2x-3x is realistic due to the sensitivity of the cards foiling and surface for factory sealed. In addition to increased card appreciation for the future.

The dice.... and the far superior packaging. FTV packaging actually makes you feel like you're holding something special. And they look amazing to display on a shelf. Conversely, why would I want a bunch of black boxes lined up on a shelf?

Do we think the multiple on products with a known card list should really be 3x-4x of box EV? I get that age and scarcity (and sealed status) make them cost more (say 1.5X-2X), but there isn't any mystery in the contents or the opportunity to do a nostalgia draft. I'll be curious to see what the next few weeks show. I may just value these products differently than others. One thing that is true is that 90's booster box prices have already corrected, so you can't search for value there nearly as easily. Same with RL cards.

lol....i wouldnt expect anything different from comments about me. People may not like my videos or behavior, but the numbers and data are solid. It is what it is. I expect a lot of anger on the FtV's over the next 30 days

Great stuff Rudy thanks! Don't discount FTV 20 as well. Even though those were higher printed like you said, the EV for that box is like $178 right now with some heavy hitters like Jace ($58) plus 19 other cards and it's being sold for $169 right now on ebay and TCG player. I picked up a few boxes last month. Plus you have Terese Nielsen card included as well (Fact or Fiction). Still love her work. She's one of the best.

Rudy is the Elon Musk of MTG Got a battlebond box last week and it shot up 50-80 on average within a couple of days. Just secured a box of FTV Transform for 169- interested to see what the long term is on sealed. Thanks Rudy!
