on zendikar...no...prices to high and i only have a couple boxes left of the original from 2008. Khans yes...but the price is so high now at 149.99 a box...i dont think most people would be interested when they can get 2 boxes of something on the monthly patron list :-/

I'm indifferent and/or no. The issue is that price got set by the inclusion of the toppers and they really are not that unique. Kaladesh had cool looking frames and such that they won't repeat, but this was a big phone in to make the set go out with a bang. Not saying the set wont go up in value, but the card quality issue and phone in blow up foils... yeah.

No, as others have stated...too risky for ROI in combination with the possibility of them being reprinted in a second run (even if highly unlikely). Agree with above, the unknown "reasoning" of these boxes being unloaded, and the local supply availability at or around $350 per box currently is still too high...imo. Guesstimate you would move 40%-60% of them almost immediately, but if that reprint does come....you would be holding the remainder for some time. High risk, I believe.

Thank you Rudy. I would pass only because I am sitting on boxes already. I am in agreement though that this would be a good investment to pick these boxes up. This Ultimate masters set got me back into magic. No pun intended but there is something magical about cracking Ultimate Masters boxes. I just watched your video on masters 25 and Iconic masters. I think the increased demand for Iconic masters and masters 25 is due to people cracking them as a substitute for ultimate masters. It’s actually a daily struggle not to crack more Ultimate Masters boxes and just sit on them. :).

If a second wave of this product is expected, why wouldn't WotC just put it on their new website in Q3/Q4 of this year? No. If it were at the price when it came out, or even around $300-325, I'd be game. But $370 seems extreme for me, without knowing what WotC is doing moving forward. I fear/worry that they're going to capitalize on the success of this product and reprint the high value cards again real soon in a "non" masters set (i.e. a "Pro Player" set or something similarly named).

Distributors want to sell product not sit on it, if it does appreciate $100 theres no guarantee when it will. They are making an absolute killing selling it at $360 a box and all at once. Thats probably a quick $70k+/- profit for them.

(1) Ship has sailed really (2) timing is a problem: if thurday's announcement is bad for set appreciation then yeah we dodged something the distributor knew (insider trading you mentioned before without much details) else if announcement is good for set appreciation then so be it I stayed flat on trade (not the first)
