Quite the Appetite - Gainer Story

Chapter One

It was a typical Friday night at the fast food joint—the kind where the air smelled of crispy fries and sizzling burgers, with the occasional hum of a soda fountain and the clink of trays being stacked. But there was something different about tonight, a sense I had from the moment I spotted that silver Dodge Charger pull into the lot.

I spotted Caleb the moment he walked in. It had been since graduation that I had seen him, and I had to admit—he looked... different. He was still tall and broad-shouldered, but now there was a noticeable softness to him, especially around his midsection. The tight shirt he wore clung to his chest and belly in a way that wasn’t quite there the last time I saw him. Back then, he was the golden boy—the star athlete, the one everyone envied in high school. But now? Well, Caleb had definitely traded in his six-pack for something a bit more substantial.

“Caleb?” I called as he approached the counter, trying to keep my tone casual.

He looked up, his signature grin spreading across his face.

“Well, if it isn’t the best server in town, he said with a wink.

I raised an eyebrow, trying not to let my gaze linger too much on the way his jeans stretched around his hips.

“How’ve you been? Haven’t seen you in awhile.”

He shrugged, running a hand through his hair.

“You know, busy with work. And, uh, enjoying my free time a little too much, I guess.” He patted his belly, which had definitely grown in the time since high school. The once rock-hard abs were now hidden beneath a soft layer of flesh.

I smiled, trying to keep the conversation going.

“What’s been keeping you busy? Last I heard, you were still doing that construction job. You still working on big projects?”

“Yep,” he said, leaning over the counter slightly.

“We’ve got a couple houses going up on the edge of town. Big money, good hours, but man, it’s tough work. Honestly, though, I think I’ve found a new hobby.” He chuckled, his belly pressing against the counter as he spoke.“Eating.”

I couldn’t help but laugh.

“Well, you’ve definitely been putting on a bit more than just muscle lately.”

Caleb didn’t seem embarrassed by it at all. In fact, he patted his round stomach with a

satisfied grin.

“Yeah, guess I’m finally getting the payback for all those years I spent obsessing over my body. The gym? No time for that anymore. But these burgers?” He gestured to the menu behind me. “Plenty of time for those.”

I raised an eyebrow, still not fully believing the transformation. Caleb had

been the king of the gym back in high school. He was always running, lifting,

showing off his abs at the pool. Now, though, he seemed perfectly at ease with his

new shape.

“So, what’s on the menu for tonight? Or should I just bring you a table of everything?” I asked, half-joking.

He leaned back, thinking for a moment before answering.

“Double bacon cheeseburger. Large fries. And a large chocolate milkshake. Gotta make up for lost time, right?”

I smiled, making a note of his order.

“I think you’ve got the right idea. Anything else?”

“Yeah,” he said with a smirk, “throw in an order of those loaded potato skins, and maybe some mozzarella sticks.”

I nodded, already sending the order to the kitchen.

“Got it. You know, we’ve got some new items on the menu. Have you tried the crispy chicken sandwich yet?”

He grinned wider.

“Not yet, but maybe next time.”

I couldn’t help but notice the way his shirt stretched more than it used to, the

way his belly curved out further when he leaned over. Caleb’s transformation was

undeniable—he used to be the guy everyone wanted to be. Now, he was the guy

everyone wanted to feed.

Chapter Two

It had been about three months since Caleb’s last visit. Things at the fast

food place had been relatively normal. That was until I heard the jingle of the door, the familiar sound of the bell.

I turned toward the entrance, heart already racing. I didn’t expect to see him again, at least not so soon. But when Caleb waddled in, the entire restaurant seemed to freeze.

He was unrecognizable—his body had expanded in ways I never imagined

possible. His tight shirt from before was now stretched to its absolute limit, the fabric

almost tearing across his swollen belly. His jeans were so tight they looked like they

were painted on. His face had softened, his jawline nearly gone, and he looked…

well, a little out of breath.

A collective gasp filled the air. My coworkers stood frozen, eyes wide,

unable to hide their shock. I stared, not believing what I was seeing. The Caleb who

had once been lean and muscular was now a walking, breathing embodiment of

indulgence. His once sharp features had become softer, his posture hunched slightly

under the weight of his massive belly.

His eyes scanned the restaurant, and when he finally noticed me, his eyes

locked onto mine.

“Well, if it isn’t my favorite server,” he said with a chuckle, his voice still

smooth but tinged with a hint of breathlessness.

“Been a while, huh?”

“Caleb…?” My voice faltered as I tried to process the change in front of me.

“What… happened?”

He shrugged, a half-smile tugging at the corners of his lips.

“Guess I really committed to the lifestyle, huh?” he quipped, his double chin beckoning out from beneath his wide smile.Just then, one of my old high school classmates—James, who had played sports with Caleb back in the day—walked in. James froze when he saw Caleb. His

jaw dropped, eyes going wide.

“Holy shit… what happened to you?” James gasped, his hand covering his mouth.

Caleb’s grin faltered for a moment, but he straightened up, patting his belly.

“Guess I’ve been busy. Work’s been good, but eating’s been better.”

James just stood there for a moment, staring, as the rest of us stood in stunned silence.

The change in Caleb was astounding—he had gone from the guy we all

thought would always be the fit, lean jock to someone who seemed, in a way, almost

in denial about his transformation.

Caleb looked at me, his eyes softening.

“I know it’s a lot… but hey, I’m still me, right?”

I nodded, but inside, I wasn’t sure anymore. The Caleb I had known was still there, somewhere. But this new version of him was so far removed from the guy who used to run sprints with the best of them.

“Well, what’ll it be?” I asked, trying to get my bearings.

Caleb paused, looking around the menu, then back at me.

“Yeah, I’ll take the usual…double bacon cheeseburger, fries, milkshake… and maybe a slice of that pie I missed last time?”

I couldn't help but smile, but there was something bittersweet about it. Caleb had changed so much, but there was still something familiar in his eyes.

And in that moment, I knew he wouldn’t stop anytime soon.
