OP Sister Chapter 534: Lost

Listen While Reading Recommendation: Labyrinth of Suffering: Depth of Pain

-----

Anna felt a sudden, agonizing grasp on her soul the moment the Boundless Abyss gazed upon her with tremendous intensity.

“Aghh! W-Wait! Why?! What’s…! What’s going on?!”

Utterly paralyzed by the Void Ruler’s gaze, she watched as the gigantic, ghostly wolf approached, its massive jaws opening and aiming toward her.

“Ahhh!”

Anna screamed, desperately trying to unleash all her power to free herself from the binding glare of the Void Ruler.

But it was futile!

Blood.

Blood dripped from her mouth, eyes, ears, and nose.

“Aaaagh…!”

In immense agony, Anna felt utterly betrayed.

The one she thought was her brother…

He was using all his power to paralyze her, allowing that monster to eat her?!

What was happening right now?!

“Annaaaaaa!”

Jack’s roar echoed from afar. In a single second, he blitzed past the wolf’s jaws, grabbing Anna in his werewolf form and leaping away from the mist-covered forest.

“Guuggh…! Ahhh…!”

Seeing his sister screaming and bleeding in agony, Jack’s eyes filled with shock, despair, and anger.

“Who dares…! Who dares harm my sister?!”

With a furious roar, he fully transformed into a giant, multi-armed werewolf.

At the same time, the ghostly creature lunged toward him, its jaws snapping.

“Nnnggh!”

Jack resisted the sharp jaws with his arms while another pair of hands gripped his Gram and slashed through the creature’s jaws!

“DIE!”

SLAAASH!

“Gryaaarrck!”

The giant wolf screamed in agony as its head split apart, revealing what lay inside.

It wasn’t just fog and shadows.

Flesh.

Pulsating flesh and long tentacles covered with sharp teeth!

“What the hell is this thing?!”

As Jack freed himself from the monster’s jaws, the creature roared. Countless chains seized his body, dragging him and Anna toward the forest.

“Jack! We have to run! That thing is a monster beyond this dimension!”

Fenrir swiftly summoned his powers, splitting into dozens of shadow wolf copies that began biting through the chains one by one to free his host.

“I’m trying to do that—Haaaaa!”

Jack roared again, gathering energy in his mouth and unleashing a dragon breath of devastating force, blasting a massive hole through the entity.

BOOOM!

The wolf screamed in agony, collapsing to the ground and bleeding profusely.

Jack fell from the sky, covered in wounds that weren’t regenerating.

Anna was convulsing, fighting to stay conscious.

“Hang in there, Anna! We have to…! We have to retreat—Ugh!”

Jack began crawling out of the forest, but the white mist thickened, and space warped around him, trapping him and his sister inside.

RUMBLE!

The monster had already recovered, rushing toward him at lightning speed.

“Damn it! Damn it!”

Jack screamed while Anna, resisting her pain, infused her cosmic energy into her brother.

“U-Use the Eclipsing… Blade…! Cut through…! Cut…! Cut the barrier…!”

“Anna!”

Jack’s eyes widened. He furrowed his brows, clenched his teeth, and gathered all his power into his sword, slashing the barrier with everything he had.

“{Eclipsing Blade}!”

Anna’s light merged with his shadows, tearing through the formation-like forest where they had been trapped!

CRAAASH!

The invisible spatial barrier shattered, and a hole opened. Jack rushed toward it, but the giant wolf arrived swiftly, moving like a mass of shadows and blocking the crack.

“W-What…?! Who…! Just what are you?!”

The wolf glared at Jack with sharp crimson eyes glowing brightly across its aberrant body. Countless tentacles surged from its wounds, rushing toward him.

“That thing is a monster that inhabits the void! I don’t know why it looks like me, but that doesn’t matter right now!” Fenrir said. “Jack, rush through! I will give you all my power!”

“Okay!”

Jack powered up to his limits, warping space with his potent dark aura. He charged with all his might, blitzing through the tentacles and chains, dodging them as best he could.

As he drew closer…

The wolf-like beast revealed a large crimson eye on its chest.

And it looked at him with a strange sense of… mockery?

“Heh… Geheh… HEHAHAHAHA!”

The wolf started laughing out of nowhere. Jack wasn’t sure what it meant!

And then…

It stepped aside.

“What…?”

As Jack passed through the crack he believed he had made…

“…Eh?”

His eyes widened as he fell.

Into a dark void.

“W-Wait…! WAIT!”

Jack screamed, extending Fenrir’s chains to grasp the world and avoid falling.

But it was futile.

As he fell, dark forces began to torment his body and Anna’s.

Mysterious cosmic energies burned through them both.

“Aaaaaagghh!”

“This is the turbulence between dimensions! No! This can’t be happening! Damn it all!”

Fenrir screamed, using all his cosmic energy to envelop Jack and Anna with every ounce of power he had, shielding them from the immense force threatening to crush them.

“Fenrir! What’s happening?! Let’s use Shadow Teleportation!”

“You think I haven’t tried?! It’s not working!”

“W-What?!”

“It was a trap! This entire thing was an elaborate trap set by someone! And we fell right into it, damn it!”

“No…! Anna!”

Jack realized Anna had fallen unconscious. He hugged her tightly, shielding her with his body while Fenrir, taking most of the damage, wrapped them with his soul and chains.

TRUUUM!

And then, darkness enveloped them for an unknown length of time…

“Ahh…”

Anna slowly opened her eyes, feeling an intense cold.

Her entire body trembled from the chill.

She looked around, seeing only darkness and…

“Stars…?”

She gazed at the rocky, gray floor covered in countless craters and gray dust, as if she were sitting on the surface of the moon.

“What is… this place?”

Anna’s eyes widened as she took in the full vista before her.

“No… how…?”

A vast, nearly endless landscape stretched before her.

Dark shadow forests, nether rivers, countless craters, floating meteors above titanic mountains.

Giants roamed the land, trampling everything in their path.

A pair of entities overflowing with starlight clashed, devastating the land below.

Countless stars and distorted planets filled the sky, many in ruins or destroyed.

And what’s more…

“Cosmic Energy flows everywhere, as common as oxygen on Earth…”

Anna looked at her hands, feeling the cosmic energy burning through her.

She was still too weak to survive in such a place.

Even with her latest evolution, her body was constantly taking damage while trying to regenerate.

“Ugh…”

She vomited blood again, sensing a deep wound in her soul—a large hole caused by something.

No, by someone.

She began to cry.

“Why are we in the Great Beyond? But this is not… it’s not the one I remember… everything seems… consumed by darkness? As if a massive catastrophe happened here.”

Then Anna remembered.

“JACK!”

She ran, searching for him with her senses.

And found him.

“J-Jack! Jack!”

She saw him on the ground, unconscious, his body burning with cosmic flames.

By some miracle, he was barely alive.

But he was on the verge of death!

“No, Jack! Jack!”

Screaming in horror, Anna tried to create a portal leading inside of her Purgatory Realm.

But the portal glitched and exploded.

“What?!”

As she struggled to comprehend everything, she looked at her brother and began absorbing the cosmic flames.

Channeling them into her Cosmic Heart, she felt an intense, agonizing burning sensation throughout her entire body.

“Cough, cough…! Ahhh!”

Anna clenched her teeth, enduring the pain, and expelled the cosmic flames through her hair, which glowed like starlight.

As she slowly healed her brother, she noticed a small creature hiding inside his shirt.

“Huh?”

She carefully reached for it, realizing it was quite fluffy.

“Auuh… Awuuuhh!”

“A puppy?”

The small black wolf pup in her hands cried in pain as Anna handled it roughly.

“A-Ah, I’m… I’m so sorry. Are you okay, little guy? Where did you… come from?”

Then Anna realized who this pup was.

It was easy to piece together after considering everything.

If they had arrived in a dimension filled with cosmic energy…

Without his help, they would have died during the journey.

“F-Fenrir?”

“Awuh?”

The pup tilted its head, confused.

“Fenrir! It’s me! Don’t you remember me?! FENRIR?!”

Anna tried shaking the creature but stopped when it cried again.

“S-Sorry… but why? What… What happened? Fenrir?”

“Grrr…”

The wolf pup growled, trying to look intimidating but appearing only adorable.

“It’s really you, huh?”

Anna began to think.

How did this happen?

Had Fenrir suffered so much damage that his soul was reduced to this small form?

Were his memories and essence sealed… or lost?

To an extent, it was as if Fenrir…

Died.

“No, no…! He didn’t die…! He’s right there, just small! We just have to help him regain his power…!”

Anna convinced herself otherwise, grabbing the puppy and kissing its forehead before tucking it into her jacket.

“Stay here, alright? It’s cold outside.”

“Awuuhh…”

The wolf pup trembled in fear but stayed close, providing warmth.

“Brother…”

Anna sat beside her brother, letting his head rest on her thighs.

She gazed at the starry sky.

“…”

She didn’t know what to think or do.

All this time, she had fought with confidence, knowing her strategies and how to battle.

But now, she was utterly without options.

“The System…”

She checked her status…

“Huh?”

It displayed only corrupt data and glitched numbers. Her System had taken tremendous damage and appeared broken.

“Ugh…”

Trying to access it caused sharp pain in her head, so she waved her hand and stopped.

“Gram? Sepa? Bastet?”

However, she received no response.

“Is… is anyone there?”

Anna cried, her tears falling onto her brother’s head.

Everything had changed so suddenly, so abruptly.

It was overwhelming to process.

Her hands trembled with immense fear and panic.

The coldness of this realm spread further, slowly weakening her.

“Haaa… Jack… Brother…”

She felt alone, abandoned, betrayed.

The Seamless Abyss…

He had betrayed her.

After all their talks and plans.

He suddenly attacked her and… betrayed her, casting her into this chaotic dimension.

“Why? I thought you… you loved me… that you were my brother…?”

As she wept, feeling betrayed and used…

Suddenly.

TRUUUM!

“Ngk?!”

A potent, oppressive pressure surged from above.

A gigantic shadow loomed from the starry skies.

Anna dared not look, as the pressure alone made her want to gouge out her eyes.

“A-Ahh… Haaaa…”

The entity watching her now…

It was a Constellation.

Silently observing her, curious about what she was.

“You.”

Its voice echoed ferociously, making Anna vomit blood as her soul was on the verge of shattering.

“Are you lost?”

“This isn’t a place where a Star as small as you should roam.”

“It’s dangerous.”

Anna didn’t dare look at it but knew she had to respond.

It would be rude not to acknowledge their presence.

And in a fit of rage, the Constellation could destroy her on the spot.

“I… I am… lost…”

She barely managed to speak, biting her arm to feel enough pain to stay conscious under the overwhelming pressure.

“You must come from the Lower Dimension. Hah, I thought that place was already devastated. You must be one of the few survivors.”

“I… yes…”

The Constellation fell silent for a moment.

Then she felt something touch her.

A hand emerged from the void, grasping her head.

“A-Ah…!”

Anna felt she could die at any moment.

She covered her mouth, daring not to speak as the Constellation inspected her entire being.

Now she understood.

The immense protection those in the Lower Dimensions received.

“Hmm… you’re odd.”

“…”

“How did you get here?”

“I… Ah… Um… A big wolf… threw us through a… a gate…”

“A big wolf, huh? I see, a spawn of the Void King.”

“…Spawn?”

“Yes, the Void King rampaged through the Great Beyond and left thousands of his vile spawn before tearing a hole through dimensions, escaping this world.”

“…What?”

“What you faced must have been one of those that followed him. Technically, they are all his fragments… what a despicable monster he is. I wonder now, has he gone to another universe to destroy it too?”

“M-May I… ask this great Constellation their true name?”

“Hm? Oh, my apologies. I didn’t introduce myself, did I?”

The strange voice, which Anna couldn’t discern as male or female, suddenly became clearer as a spark of light infused into her forehead.

“You’ve landed in what was once Olympus’ territory, child. I am the last surviving member of my family, Ares.”

Anna felt a warmth enveloping her entire body, allowing her to gaze upon the Constellation’s true form.

A giant, muscular man with long red hair and clear brown skin, covered in countless scars and clad in bone armor, wielding a massive axe.

He appeared far older and more seasoned than the Ares she recalled from the novel.

“I was once known as the God of War… Hah…! But now, there’s no war, only death and despair in this world. The Void King… left us with barely anything and fled. Now his spawn roam, hunting us and trying to devour us.”

Ares studied Anna for a moment, then glanced at the man and the puppy she carried.

“You’re fortunate I found you. If that wretched Puppeteer Madwoman had, you’d already be a puppet. Come, I sense within you the faint blessing of Olympus. Though my family is long gone, the least I can do is offer you hospitality on their behalf.”

Ares waved his hand, and cosmic energy gathered around Anna, her brother, and the little Fenrir, pulling them against her will toward a nearby planet in the starry sky.
