OP Sister Chapter 489: Catching Up

Listen While Reading: Fantastic Plastic Pathos & Blondie Ponytail
-----

It has been two days since I came back, and I’ve finally begun to calm down slowly, assess my thoughts, and start anew back home. I spent so much time in Bestia, met so many people, and made so many friends that it affected the way I interacted with others. I often lost focus pretty quickly, but after two days of watching movies with Baihe and eating with my brother, I was able to feel better and get a bit more used to normalcy.

This normalcy, which wasn’t even a thing back in Bestia, I’ve finally realized I missed quite a lot. The modern era, with a big city, tall skyscrapers, and the like. Phones, internet, all of it! Yes, I think I missed this a lot compared to when I was in Bestia.

But even then, I might need to go around the city and meet everyone again to get a good refresh of everything, honestly. Also, I think I remember now what my goal was before I left. I was going to help Hilda.

Yeah, yeah, I’ve got this mental note I saved in my memory of all the important people so I can remember them quickly.

Hilda Hamelin, A+ Rank hunter of the Smithy Hammer Guild, doubles as a powerful blacksmith but is equally powerful. Incarnation of Hephaestus.

There, yeah, that’s her.

I promised her I would help her avenge her parents and go to her hometown to defeat the monsters that took over that place.

At the beginning of the First Awakening, Gates appeared everywhere. Just like my hometown, Hilda’s was also a victim, and her hometown was taken over by a powerful Dragon-type Gate, becoming what I heard is like a volcanic landscape.

This place, my brother never visits it in the original novel, so it’ll be pretty interesting to see what we can find over there. Fighting a real dragon that isn’t a demon posing as one will be interesting as well.

I think the last dragon I saw that was not a demon or godly being was, uh, that Ice or Glacial Dragon from the Dungeon where Baihe and I went, right? Yeah, that one.

My brother defeated it pretty easily with the help of the other Hunters, though, and he’s definitely coming, and he’s even stronger than before.

Me too.

So it might be a complete walk in the park, but that’s fine too. We’re going there not for some challenge or whatever, but as a favor for Hilda, who has helped us a lot.

Well, she had helped me specifically, helping me make all those weapons and armor. Without her, I might not have been able to survive back in Bestia.

And after that, uh, what were we going to do?

Hmm, it was about my brother visiting. Ah, right, there it is!

I finally found the memory stored within the folders of my mind. It was strange how this Reader Trait’s Memory Ability worked.

It was like my mind and all my memories truly never went away, but they were instead stored within folders. Even though I can forget something, once I try to remember it, it all quickly appears instantly, with fine detail, like some sort of huge word document inside my head I can read loud and clear and remember everything in fine detail.

So in a way, my human mind still works the same, but this ability gives it a strange new power to always remember everything as long as I intend to. That’s nice, especially for traumatic things. Sometimes just forgetting some things is for the better.

Anyway, we were going to go to the Dungeon my brother entered for the first time, where he was left alone after Fenrir appeared there as a powerful Dungeon Boss. That’s where he had been sealed by this mysterious being.

Apparently, that dungeon is in the middle of some wastelands, and it hasn’t been cleared yet, so we’re going there to check it out after we’re done with Hilda’s problem.

It’ll be a whole road trip around the post-apocalyptic landscape of North America! It’ll be fun.

“Looks like you’re recovering, Anna. Do you feel better today?” my brother asked as we had breakfast this morning.

He had thought I got some sort of fever because I was acting so strange and weird these last two days, and I conveniently decided to use that as an excuse.

“Uh, yeah, a bit. I still feel kind of dizzy sometimes, like I forget things, but I’m fine, really,” I said. “I was planning on going around the city, maybe meet Kevin and Henrietta and their guild. Also visit Annabelle and Scarlet! Want to come along, Baihe?”

“Oh? Sure!” Baihe nodded as she finished drinking her morning coffee. “But you just plan to visit them? That’s it?”

“Yeah, we’re friends, right? So just checking on people sometimes is not that bad,” I said. “There doesn’t have to be a big reason to visit someone you care for. Also, I’m wondering how Henrietta’s guild is doing. I was thinking of creating an official Guild Alliance with them, brother.”

“Ah, that’s a good idea. I hadn’t considered that,” my brother nodded, rubbing his chin. “Hmm, a Guild Alliance could prove beneficial as we can share hunting grounds. We could access their dungeons, for example, and other facilities that might help you continue growing.”

“Facilities?” Baihe asked curiously.

“Yeah, like the Hunter Training Facility, where young Hunters go every day to train using special machines and tools. They also do small classes, missions, and more,” Jack explained. “It was Henrietta’s idea to help the young and weaker Hunters get stronger. You know, back then it was pretty terrible to be a weak, low-rank hunter without a single penny.”

“Hmm, sounds interesting, but I doubt it would help me get any stronger,” I said. “I guess it could help Baihe, though.”

“Really? Um, well, I prefer to train here with you and your brother instead,” Baihe blushed a little. “I don’t know about going there either, but if Anna insists, I suppose.”

“Well, it’ll be just a visit so you can-”

Knock, knock!

Suddenly, someone knocked at the door.

“Coming!”

Fenrir ran out to open the door, greeting someone from outside. In this state, he looked like just a big husky with black and gray fur and golden eyes.

He had been practicing this normal dog form for a while, trying not to look as intimidating so he can be around the house or outside in the city without being looked at weirdly by others or scaring people without wanting to.

Despite what he says, he’s a pretty considerate guy.

“Ah, doggie! Good morning, everyone!”

A cheerful lady stepped forward. She was stocky, had big, muscular arms, brown skin, and messy pink hair.

“Anna! I came to check on you. We’re going back to my hometown, right?”

It was, of course, Hilda!

“Long time no see.”

“Huh? We just met last week, but I guess it has been some time, yeah? Heh.”

[The Cosmic Throne {Divine Forger of Olympus} is happy to see you again.]

[He has donated +5,000 Plot Points.]

Huh, starting with giving me Plot Points right away?

I have over a million now, though, so that measly amount is nothing to me, Hephaestus! Heh.

Currently, I have:

[Plot Points]: [6,505,500]

Yeah, that’s a lot!

God damn!

I think I can do a lot of big things with this. It’s finally time to act like the little constellation I am.

I’ll be sponsoring all over the place.

With this, perhaps I can accelerate my plans to save this world.

But for now, let’s concentrate on the present and what we need to do right now.

“Oh, it’s you, Hilda. Come in,” my brother invited her inside. “It’s nice to see you again. How has work been treating you?”

“Fine! I’ve been working nonstop this week, got a lot of commissions from the big guilds! After the whole Demon Castle thing, they’ve been asking for anti-demon weapons a lot, haha,” she laughed. “I ran out of Holy Materials, though, so I’m waiting until the ones I purchased arrive. Anna, you don’t happen to have some you could sell me?”

“I happen to have a few, yeah,” I nodded.

I did have a few Angelic Feathers, Angel Statue Stones, and also tiny fragments of their crystals, but they weren’t too many, though.

However, I don’t think I have to give her those, simply as.

“There.”

I grew an angelic wing from my back and plucked ten feathers from it. It hurt a little, but once the wings retracted, the pain was gone.

“Anna?! Wait, right! You have a Skill that makes you half angel and half demon or something, right?” she wondered. “That’s awesome. I had no idea I could use your feathers, but now I feel bad.”

“Haha, don’t worry. You’ve done so much for me that those are on the house. They still aren’t of pure origin, but I think they’ll do the job just fine,” I said.

“Well! Thank you!” she said happily. “I think with just these ten feathers, I could make like thirty more weapons.”

“Are they really asking for so many?” Jack asked.

“Yeah, they’re panicking. They think we’re going to get invaded by demons at any moment now,” said Hilda. “I mean, I don’t know, maybe that will happen? Who knows, this world’s crazy as it is. The chairman himself was cursed by a damn demon, and if it wasn’t for Anna, he would’ve died too!”

“Oh, the chairman! Is he alright?” I asked.

“Yeah! I saw the old man exercising in the park today on my way here. He really likes waking up early to run around the city block and the nearby park,” she said. “And then I see him drinking a coffee and eating donuts. Hehe, for being such a strong and intimidating old man, he sure enjoys the simple little things in life.”

“Aw, come on, he’s not intimidating. He’s a great guy,” I said with a giggle. “Ah, right, about the promise. Brother, you’re coming, right?”

“Wait, what? What promise?” he wondered.

“Ah, well.”
