And… I didn’t become a literal crane, either. I barely felt any change in my body. But I did sense a tinge of something—a light flowing through my veins.

As I sipped some juice while preparing for the final event, I noticed my wings could now grow much larger and were… strikingly white and majestic, like hers. Not angel-like, but more like those of a realistic bird. If I wanted, I could also grow feathers across my body, and they were undeniably beautiful. The more I channeled this power, the more bird-like features I gained.

Could I achieve a full transformation into a White Crane, like Wai Tian or Yin Sheng’s skills I inherited from them?

“Huh.”

And, yep, she noticed.

“Anna, since when could you sprout white feathers, dear?” she asked, looking at me with surprise. “And why… do I feel even more connected to you now? It’s… like you’re truly my blood-related daughter! What’s this new sorcery?”

“I-I might have… copied a skill that… uh, it was your bloodline,” I muttered shyly. “Sorry… I know it’s weird! I just… wanted to be related in some way and bring a part of you back home…”

“You have my bloodline?!” she gasped in disbelief. “Truly?!”

“Y-Yes…”

“I’m so happy!”

She hugged me tightly, enveloping me with her arms and wings.

“Really? You don’t think it’s weird?”

“Of course not. Why would I think it’s weird? You chose to carry a part of your mother within your very bloodline. It’s an honor that you’ve decided to do this.”

“An honor… really? Hehe…”

“Indeed… Your System never ceases to amaze me! To think it can do such a thing…”

“I wish I could do the same with Dad, but since he’s gone… I can’t copy any of his skills anymore.”

“Oh… Yes… But you carry his legacy. He passed his inheritance to you! Thanks to that incredible System ability you possess, you now embody everything he was.”

“…I know, and I’ll make sure to honor it.”

“Well said, dear.”

Now, there are three other skills I can choose… Let’s see.

Hm, yeah, alright. For the Primordial Beasts, I’ll skip the Domains since I already have that overpowered Domain from the fusion. Honestly, all their skills sound incredible.

Destruction and Creation? I could probably do a lot with those, I bet. The Wolf of the Moonless Night and the Lioness of the Bright Sun? Maybe transformations? They definitely have potential. And then there are the Primordial Embodiments…

They sound amazing, but the problem is, I have no idea what they actually do… so I’m left guessing.

As for my little brother, maybe… I could take his hybrid bloodline and carry Dad’s bloodline, too. But wouldn’t that have been pointless after choosing Mom’s bloodline first? They’d probably just overlap.

So, maybe not…

His Domain Skill? I already have two. The Matter Restructuration ability is wild, though. He used it against the Demons and Lucifer, and it seems capable of literally manipulating matter, including the energy of the environment or one’s own body. However, its mastery and capabilities depend on the energy we possess, so I can’t just create a pocket universe or a galaxy with a snap of my fingers.

But… maybe one day, if I gain enough power, I could materialize an entire world. Isn’t this like an upgraded version of Destruction and Creation from the Primordial Beasts?

Then there’s his Unique Heart of Courage. It’s equivalent to our parents’ Heart of Hope and the Cursed Seals! Those awesome red flames can burn through anything… But taking it would feel like stealing his unique thing. He didn’t even give me permission for it. It’s more important to him than the Matter Restructuration power he was born with; this is a technique he developed on his own.

As for the Primordial Beasts’ skills… Yeah, let’s go for the ones that sound the most game-breaking.

Whoa, I don’t feel any different at all. Hmm, they’re definitely activation skills, not the passive, always-active kind. But that’s probably for the best. Once I activate them, I can experiment with them. The last two, though, are intriguing. I assumed they were passive, but maybe not?

Perhaps when I copy them, they become activation skills because, for the Primordial Beasts, these powers are part of their very essence. For me, they’re more like an add-on, not something that flows naturally from my being, so they require activation. Then again, half of these skills appeared in my passive skill list, so maybe they’re passive after all but need a toggle to start.

Well, alright, I’m all set now. I copied the second skill from 0-1, probably from fulfilling her dream of having a “human soul,” right? And then there are the others. I even have my adoptive mother’s bloodline in my veins, so I’m literally her blood-related child now…

“Anna, let’s go. The Heavenly Ash Ritual is about to begin,” she said. “You don’t have to watch if you don’t want to, but…”

“No, it’s fine,” I nodded. “We’ll be there.”

“Yeah… I want to help scatter Dad’s ashes…” Song said with a sorrowful smile.

“…Alright, thank you,” Mom said, smiling softly as she patted our shoulders. “I’m sure your father would be proud of what you two have become.”
