As the two powerful Barbarian Kings laughed together, raising the morale of their troops even higher, another group of formidable soldiers began marching forward in the farthest reaches of the Dark Forest.

They were clad in emerald-green armor, mostly crafted from magical jewels of the same hue, and carried strange weapons imbued with deadly curses. These weapons leaked corrosive acid that tainted the land as they moved, not like a disciplined army but more like zombies.

Behind them loomed a giant, green, tentacled abomination, over twenty meters tall, with countless eyes and a slimy form. Atop this monster sat a woman with long green hair, pale white skin, and glowing green eyes.

She spread her arms, clutching a green staff, as an aura of corrosive green spread around her army, strengthening them with spectral, wicked power. 

“Advance forward, my dear army! Today, we must let our Maiden know we intend to follow her no matter what! Today, we shall sacrifice them all to her. We shall let them know the joy of being one with her, to dissolve within her endless being. Imagine! How wonderful it is!” 

“For the Emerald Maiden…”

“For our Maiden…”

“Yes… Yes!”

“For our dear Maiden…”

“Kill… kill all the heretics who dare insult our Maiden’s name…!” 

Her soldiers roared in unison, their voices tired and zombie-like, yet obedient. Marching by the dozens, they formed an army nearly two hundred strong, each emerging from underground passages leading to their vast cult elsewhere. 

“Hah… Yes…! Yes, my Maiden! Can you see? We are doing all of this for you! And to avenge those felled by THEM… who dared to take our friends down before they could meet you! They will pay.” 

The woman smiled viciously, her hands nearly tearing her face as she gripped it tightly. Then she looked down at her army marching forward.

But her sharp emerald eyes caught something else in the distance, widening for a moment. 

RUMBLE! 

“…What?” 

Her eyes widened further as she saw a gigantic stone claw rushing toward her. The giant slime-like monster bounced away just in time, but several of her men were sent flying by the massive stomping attack. 

CRAAASH! 

The land cracked as a colossal, mountain-sized golem emerged, shaped like a dragon. It roared ferociously as it chased a “fly” made of flames. 

“Damned bastard! How long do you intend to run away for?! Die!” 

She heard the voice of a monstrous being atop the giant mountain dragon golem. Her eyes widened, and her jaw nearly dropped as the creature opened its massive maws, crafted from stone and crystal, charging bright light before releasing a destructive beam of iridescent light. 

BOOOM! 

The entity couldn’t dodge in time, as if it had slowed considerably, and was blasted into oblivion, vanishing once and for all. 

“I did it…! Hahahah…! I KILLED HIM!” 

She heard the man atop the monster laugh as he suddenly looked down at her and her army. His sharp, glowing red eyes, long white hair, and insectoid armor covering his body made him unlike anything she had ever seen. 

“What…?! Who…! What is the meaning of this?!” 

She didn’t know what to think. Her Maiden had guided her into battle, and she had believed victory was assured, drowning Elderbridge in a sea of deadly acid. Yet, before even reaching it, she encountered this thing! 

“I smell the scent of disgusting elder god dogs,” the man said, his eyes glowing brighter than ever. “I fucking hate elder god cultists.” 

“A-Ahhh…!” 

The Priestess of the Maiden of the Emerald Sea was suddenly filled with a jolt of despair as she beheld the massive, imposing presence of the King of this Realm’s prehistory, from a time before the “elder gods” even existed. 

“Who the hell are you?! Are you his allies?! Have you come to help him?! Worry not, he’s dead now! Hahaha! Why don’t you all join him?!” 

Ezekiel laughed viciously as his gigantic golem roared, beginning to move forward slowly. The Priestess panicked, quickly mobilizing her troops and ordering them to retreat from the monster’s range while preparing their long-range magic. 

“I don’t fear you, unknown monster! Everyone who dares defy us is defying the Emerald Maiden! Now perish! Everything will become one within the Emerald Sea!!!” 

The woman screamed, fanaticism fueling every word, as emerald magic circles manifested around her. The Arcana within her body and soul surged like a sea of emerald light. 

“{Divine Emerald Ocean Arts}: {Abyssal Slime Tentacles}!” 

From each magic circle, dozens of gigantic slimy tentacles emerged, rapidly growing to immense size and wrapping around the massive leg of the Mountain Dragon Golem, slowly attempting to consume its stone and crystals with deadly corrosive acid.

And it was working—slowly, very slowly… 

“HMPH!” 

Ezekiel smirked confidently as the Mountain Dragon swung its leg forward, destroying and tearing apart all the tentacles before kicking the woman, her monster, and dozens of her army away! 

CRAAASH! 

“Aaaagh!” 

The Priestess screamed in agony as her magic shattered instantly and her army was pushed back. Several of her men lay unconscious, on the brink of death, with a few already dead! 

“T-This can’t be happening! Our path was supposed to be safe; this is our forest…! Where did a thing like you even come from?!” 

She pierced the monster she rode with her staff, infusing it with her magic and rapidly making it grow to fifty meters in length—still small compared to the Mountain Dragon Golem.

The monstrous slime-like octopus opened its mouth, firing several beams of highly concentrated acid, bombarding the giant golem in an attempt to halt its charge toward her. 

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! 

All the commotion caught the attention of Ausberth, who glanced into the distance with confused eyes, realizing a little too late what was happening after sending a flying drone to investigate. 

“W-What is this?! A giant… a giant monster?! A golem…? No, a dragon? Wait…! This is… where did this even come from?!”
