After growing so strong from assimilating the special serum that Xue Xenxue created, I was so joyful I couldn’t help but praise the genius. He even surpassed me in terms of Alchemy and all that complicated Science stuff.
I might have lived eleven thousand years, but I mostly spent them honing my fighting abilities over anything else. Although I did still reach a Grandmaster Level of Comprehension in Alchemy, it appears he’s even more talented than me while not even being at my level strength-wise.
Or perhaps it’s his passion and not just raw talent. He simply is passionate about the level of obsession, which creates a true genius. I was never able to get too far with the Dao of Alchemy, but I suppose this young man has already surpassed me in that regard.
And with the science of Earth added into the mix and all the tools I could secure for him; this comprehension has only increased even further.
“I never imagined I would get this far. My dear mother was right; I was truly destined to one day achieve great things…! She never gave up on my dreams, that woman. I owe her everything…” Xue Xenxue muttered while shedding a small tear. “Thank you for giving me this opportunity, Master Bing Xue.”
“I see,” I said with a nod. I felt truly happy. “Although I have not truly surpassed my current realm, I have finally taken a step forward toward achieving it. I have obtained a body capable of becoming one with the void and the stars. Now I require improving my soul… It’ll be a thorny path, but I shall continue. Now, Xue Xenxue, tell me what you want. As long as it is within my power, I will give it to you.”
“I… I would, of course, want more materials, but… above all else, perhaps climbing that legendary tower!” Xue Xenxue said. “I’ve been fascinated by it this entire time!”
“The Tower, huh? I see! Well, that does make sense. It is indeed an incredible place, right?” I asked with a smile. “I suppose I could allow you to explore it. You’re an Immortal, so that would make you plenty strong to explore most of the floors—at least the first ten… But I would rather have you work here. It’s complicated, I suppose. However, I guess it is within your right to do as you please; you’re no slave.”
“Of course, my passion remains with this work! I would never abandon such an opportunity just to explore, Master,” he said. “However, rest assured, I want to explore the tower to further my studies and learn even more about the genetics and physiology of otherworldly beings. I have become fascinated by all these new things…”
“I understand. Still, you’ll need some bodyguards… Do you want to go now?” I asked.
“Oh no, I’ll remain here until you go to the tower. Then, if you don’t mind, I would like to accompany you,” he said.
“Hmm, I suppose you got along with my kids, right? I guess they’ll be happy to see their uncle,” I giggled. “Sure thing, but I still like to have some time with only my family, Xue Xenxue, so…”
“I completely understand! I will give you your privacy. I can go on my own, and then I can return to you once I’m satisfied,” he nodded.
“Hm, alright. I’ll still let a Doppelganger go with you for your safety,” I said.
“Thank you. I sincerely appreciate it. Despite being stronger than most beings in the tower, I am not too fond of battle either way,” he laughed awkwardly. “Ah, right! I would like to have a sample of your blood, Master. I would like to examine how it changed with the serum… and we could create an even more improved serum with it, which you could share with your family.”
“Interesting… Alright,” I nodded. “But I hope you don’t try making anything else with it, like… I don’t know, cloning me, okay?”
“W-Why would I ever do that…” Xue Xenxue muttered, looking at me with shock. “Master, I have great respect for you! I would never betray you.”
“Alright, you’re not lying, but you’re also working with shady guys… Well, they’re also wearing special accessories so they can’t try anything funny, but even then, keep an eye on them. I don’t trust them yet,” I said. “You were the one who insisted on letting them work for you, after all…”
“Very well, Master. I will not disappoint you,” he said as I gave him a small flask with my blood, which I extracted from one of my fingertips. “Oooh, the blood of a venerable… It sparkles?”
“Yes, it’s dangerous and could burn you too, so be careful how you handle it,” I said. “I’ll try to secure more blood from Hall later, if I meet him again. He does owe me a lot, and some blood or a hair won’t be something he’ll care about.”
“Thank you, Master. Fresh samples from the pure-blooded Solarian would also be appreciated!” He nodded. “But I must ask you something first…”
“Yes?” I asked.
“What do you plan to do with this serum once we perfect it and mass-produce it? You know very well how strong it is… To give it to just anybody, aside from your family, would be an immensely dangerous endeavor. It could even… create monsters that could match your strength,” he said, rather worried.
“Don’t worry, I will not hand it to just anybody…” I said. “And match my strength? Not even Hall can do it, and he’s pure-blooded… But I suppose I shouldn’t be too arrogant either. Don’t worry, I plan to request a ‘weaker serum’ as well.”
“Yes, I was planning to create that, indeed!” Xue nodded. “A weaker serum that could give special powers and strengthen someone immensely, but not to the level of Galaxy Man, would be good enough to create a large force of super-powered soldiers to protect your planet.”
“Indeed! Looks like great minds think alike, Xue Xenxue,” I laughed. “You even have a similar name to mine. If you were a girl, I might have fancied you, but whatever.”
“Haha, you flatter me. Thank you for your kind words,” he nodded with a kind smile. “Now then, I shall resume my studies. I’ll analyze this blood and everything, Master.”
