The Heavenly Martial Empress Returns Chapter 271: Helping The Saurians

-----

“Umm, Mom?”

Bing Xue glanced at the scene in front of her as Merneith battled two Divine Machine Soldiers while Ra clashed against Khnum, explosions of water and flames erupting everywhere.

Her eyes looked slightly tired, like she really didn’t want things to turn out this way, but it seemed inevitable with what had been happening behind the scenes.

This was supposed to be a nice trip into outer space…

But now?

Things were only going to get more ridiculous.

Again.

She was tired, and not just slightly tired, but very tired… It wasn’t a physical tiredness; it wasn’t her soul that was tired either.

It was another type of tiredness, one that came from the mind. Murim was like this as well, endless conflicts, and only nice and peaceful times when she was inside her own Inner Realm, hidden from the world outside she wanted to visit and journey through.

And now, back home, she expected things to be peaceful, but… They weren’t; they never were. It was tiring, very tiring, even more now that she had to worry about things such as multiversal dangers.

“Hah, what’s the point anymore?”

For a moment, Bing Xue began thinking very bad things, things that she would usually never say out loud; her own heart was speaking in that moment.

“This is so tiring…”

“Mom!”

She quickly looked at her daughter, Athena, who was constantly calling her.

“My dear daughter…”

Seeing her adorable face filled Bing Xue’s tired heart with happiness; the world suddenly had color again.

She smiled, patting her head.

“Yes, dear?” She asked with a gentle smile.

“Shouldn’t we do something about this? Or are we really going to just watch? It doesn’t sit well with me…” Athena said, her tail wagging around; she seemed excited to go to battle.

“Let’s fight!” Orion nodded. “We got the Dekai Gaoranger suits right? So we could do something!”

“Hmmm, you have to take into consideration that our strength is much beyond theirs,” Bing Xue explained. “And Merneith herself wanted to take care of things on her own. You see, sometimes, people don’t find it so satisfying if they don’t take care of problems or vendettas by their own hands, you know? Sometimes, solving a problem quickly that doesn’t have anything to do with you may only make people… well, hate you a little.”

“E-Eh? I didn’t know…” Orion said.

“This isn’t a world-threatening event, so it wouldn’t be our right to step into this conflict right away and just stomp over everything,” Bing Xue said. “But… that doesn’t mean we’ll just sit and watch as a friend gets stomped… However, Merneith seems to be handling things quite well.”

“Y-Yeah, I guess so!” Athena nodded. “She’s pretty strong!”

“Indeed, she is,” Bing Xue nodded. “Think of this as a trial for her so she can prove herself and also train with the new powers she has gained. Redeye, Bloodclaw, and the other Saurians, however… We should go help them. Merneith is too busy to assist them, and we got pretty good healing abilities, don’t we?”

“Oh yeah, I guess we could do that!” Athena nodded. “Fighting is not always the solution to everything. If we heal them, we could earn their gratitude, and they could trust us better.”

“That’s right! Well said, Athena. It seems you’ve learned well from my words. Orion, Rainbow Eyes, Kalana, what do you think?” I asked.

“Hmm, I guess we should help; I do feel a bit bad about the lizard people.” Orion looked at them pitifully, groaning in pain. “They’re in a lot of pain… I-If we don’t do something, they might die…”

“And we got the power and abilities to do something as well, so why not?” Kalana nodded, crossing her cute little arms, looking at me with her bright rainbow eyes.

“Yeah!” Rainbow Eyes nodded. “I still feel a bit bad after I took that hand… and when I shattered the moon. I need to do some good to offset the bad, like you’ve said sometimes, Mom.”

“Haha, I’m glad you’ve learned well. Let’s go then,” Bing Xue said, walking downstairs with her kids. “Ah, do you girls want to come along?”

“Nah, this is a moment for the kids; we’ll watch,” Mursha said. “Kalana, be nice and earn the people’s trust, alright?”

“Yes, Mama!” Kalana nodded.

“I agree with what Mursha said,” Merkite agreed, crossing her arms. “Let’s leave the kids to handle it.”

“I don’t think I could heal them either way,” Urbosa nodded.

“I’m going as well!” Hekita, however, quickly ran away from Urbosa’s side, joining Bing Xue.

“Ah well, there she goes…” Urbosa giggled. “Be careful, Hekita.”

“Rainbow Eyes, help the dinosaurs…!” Fiery Hair said. “Forge a strong bond… Don’t let our past affect the present! New people, new lives, new future… if the past is only about destruction and killing, then it's a bad past.”

“Yes, Mom!” Rainbow Eyes nodded.

Hearing their mothers’ approval, and with Hekita hurriedly joining them, Bing Xue and her kids walked towards the scene of battle.

CLASH! CLASH! CLASH! CLASH!

Merneith swung her spear, blazing green flames engulfing both of the Divine Machine Soldiers she fought, channeling the power of Khnum; this new technology they had developed seemed to aid the Egyptians at mass producing low-grade Divine Machines of great power.

Mostly because they had yet to figure out how their ancestors crystallized the mythology of these gods into the Machine Gods Cores, they ended up going for this roundabout way of creating smaller, mass-produced robots that any pilot can ride that can absorb divine power to become stronger and gain supernatural abilities.

“Ugh, dammit, you’re only a brat! Do you think you can really rebel against our Empire?!”

“Princess Merneith, stop fighting and simply forfeit this instant!”

The two divine robots clashed against her, swinging their deadly and sharp tridents and trying to pierce through her armor.

However, Merneith manifested golden and green-colored shields made of the metal of her suit’s armor and blazing forcefields, helping her resist and tank the hits.

CLAAASH!

As they hit her together and were about to unleash a downpour of powerful divine water, she quickly swung the blazing spears she held, piercing the arms and the robots and then destroying them with an injection of green flames inside of the large, damaged area.

BOOOM!

“Ugh?!”

BOOOM!

“Agh!”

The two Divine Machine Soldiers stepped back in surprise, suddenly realizing they had dropped their divine weapons, which Merneith quickly destroyed with her spears.

CRAAASH!

Both divine weapons exploded into water and blue divine essence until they were nothing but piles of junk and metal.

“This new technology you’ve created is quite interesting, if I must say…” Merneith said with a confident smile, revealing her face beneath her helmet. “If I didn’t have this suit with me, it would have been quite troublesome. This technology didn’t exist when I left, however. How were you able to create something like this so quickly?”

“Do you actually think we’ll say anything?!”

“Get her!”

The two rushed towards her again, attacking her with their giant mechanical fists, but Merneith rapidly flew away from their blows, hitting the ground instead.

BAAAM!

“Hahaha! You’re too sluggish!”

Merneith mocked them, kicking their heads and pushing them back, making them fall into their own backs, having a hard time standing back up.

“How pathetic! And you had such confidence before…! Now let’s see, how is my cute Ra faring?”

“CRYAAAAH!”

“GROOOHH!”

Ra and Khnum clashed against one another, generating powerful shockwaves of golden sand-like essence. Ra’s fiery powers were constantly being intercepted and countered by Khnum, but his flames became more and more intense, to the point Khnum’s water was being rapidly evaporated before it could even deal any damage to him.

“Tch! Khnum! What is this pathetic display?! Fight with more strength! Your water should be stronger than Ra’s flames! What are you doing?!”

Djet-Ka constantly berated his own Machine God, as Khnum groaned while constantly trying to smash Ra’s entire body with its giant fists, only for Ra to avoid those blows by flying away at the right moment and then kicking its head and piercing its armor with his Solar Spear.

CLASH! CLASH! CLASH! CLASH!

“Looks like things are doing quite well for Merneith, huh?” Athena said. “Hekita, will you help her?”

“I kind of want to, but I don’t want to take away her moment!” Hekita said. “Let’s heal the people! I think my Spirit Energy can heal as well; I’ve practiced quite a few spells after all.”

The kids ran towards the Saurians; this area down here was literally a small town of its own, with over two hundred Saurians taking refuge, over half of them had been affected by Djet’s reckless attack, groaning in pain on the floor.

“Are you alright?”

Athena quickly ran towards a group of three Saurians, who looked at her with surprise, scared and angry; they hissed at her with their giant jaws and showed her their sharp teeth.

“Shyaaaaah!”

“Craxkaaah!”

“Krexkusha!”

Athena couldn’t quite understand their language that well yet… Bloodclaw could speak English because Bing Xue helped her do so through her resurrection, but the language the Saurians spoke was quite sharp and stranger than most.

Nonetheless, she was already beginning to learn it and understand it. To Bing Xue and her kids, learning new languages didn’t take longer than a couple of exchanges of words to fully understand.

“Don’t worry, I don’t mean any harm; I just want to heal you. Stay still.”

With a gentle voice that they could understand, the Saurians, shocked, saw a bright light encompass their bodies. Their broken bones healed rapidly, and the feeling of paralysis all over them was gone as well.

“Better?”

“G-Gagh?!”

“Ooh…”

“Ugh…”

As they looked at their own bodies with surprise, they glanced back at Athena with awe.

“Do you feel better?”

“Yes…”

“You can speak… our language?”

“You healed us… Why?”

“Why not? If I can do it, then I will just do it!” Athena smiled cutely.

“Uuugh…”

“Is that so…”

“I don’t know what to say…”

“Starting with a “thank you” could work pretty well, don’t you think?”

Suddenly, Bloodclaw appeared behind Athena, already having been healed by Bing Xue.

“L-Lady Bloodclaw?!”
