The Heavenly Martial Empress Returns Chapter 263: Reviving Bloodclaw

-----

“I-I… I suppose you can read through my entire being, huh? You’re… an absolute being, someone even greater than the Saurian God… Perhaps you’re a new Goddess!”

“Haha, not… really. I mean, yes, I am a goddess, but that’s-”

“I will pledge my allegiance to the new goddess! I would gladly become your priest and spread your religion! T-The Saurian God is a monster! He used me and my people, and he never cared about us at all! I might have been his priestess, but not anymore…! I abhor him; he’s a traitor and someone that never loved us!”

“Huh, you sure switched sides quickly!” Urbosa looked at her while squinting her eyes.

“She’s quite chatty, isn’t she?” Merkite poked her with her fingernails.

“E-Ehh… P-Please don’t bully me…” Bloodclaw muttered. “I-It’s… such an embarrassment that I am not reduced to such a state. I used to be such a glorious and beautiful woman! But now I am a soul; I wonder if I could help even in my current state, Goddess?”

“Hmm, you’re not wrong; you need your body back, but it was calcinated into ashes,” I nodded.

“A-Ah…”

She looked completely defeated.

“But like with Karel, I could bring it back… Well, I kind of failed to do that in time, though, so right now it’s impossible,” I nodded.

“Eh?!”

“However, it shouldn’t be hard to turn you into a Spirit,” I said. “Spirits can take physical forms; I also have some of the cells of your kind stored in my Inner Realm… here.”

I brought out a flask of reanimated cells, one of the many I had stored to study what the Saurians were with some of my scientific and alchemist disciples.

Apparently they are indeed dinosaurs; they descend from the same clade as Raptors, but are much more humanoid and, of course, quite intelligent.

This is probably why they also had feathers as “hair” all around their bodies; honestly, aside from their destructive tendencies, they’re a beautiful race of people.

I am always kind of amused by non-human races and the wonderful shapes and forms they can take; the diversity of life in the universe is amazing, and it fascinates me to an extent.

“R-Really? I will be revived?! You will give me a second chance, goddess?!”

Bloodclaw was amazed and fascinated.

She ran her tongue through my arm and started licking my face with her gecko-like tongue.

She was cute, honestly…

“I will forever be grateful! Forever, forever!”

“C-Calm down… Geez, this little thing.”

I sighed, patting her head.

“Bloodclaw, despite all, you’ve done a lot of bad things, terrible things. You hurt Karel, that Martian, remember?”

“A-Ah, yes… I… I am very sorry!”

“Hm, it’s not me you should be sorry to; you’ll have to personally ask for forgiveness from him later, understood?”

“Understood, goddess!”

“And also, you’ve been a rather bad girl; you’ve lived a life being spoiled, you are cruel, and you enjoy seeing others prostrate before you… You should tone down the cruelty.”

“I-I understand… It’s… I know, I am sorry…”

“Hmm, and you have to promise me that you will be good, that you regret your decisions, and that you will now walk a path of righteousness. We will work together to help your people reach peace with us… So we don’t have to end in senseless slaughter.”

“I will… I will work hard… Please believe in me! I am a completely new person now!”

“We’ll see about that.”

I decided to trust her, totally not because her adorable gecko appearance was winning my heart, weak to small animals.

And well, if she betrays my trust at the end, she knows what’s coming for her; I won’t hesitate to turn her back into her tiny gecko form.

And if she ends up doing something unforgivable, there wont even be an afterlife for her, as her soul will be shattered into countless pieces.

She’s a very smart woman, so she must be quite aware of our conditions, even when I didn’t address them all.

“I guess we’ll really need her help to deal with the Saurians,” said Urbosa. “I agree that just killing them all is wrong…”

“Every member of a tribe should never be blamed for the sins of a few of their members! In every tribe, there are always innocent families, children, mothers, grandparents…” Mursha said. “Only barbarians slaughter entire tribes just because they’re deemed foes.”

“I don’t really like the idea of her being around, but… I guess there’s no helping it either,” Yanisse shrugged. “I hope she behaves.”

“She should,” I nodded. “Now, let’s begin… Athena, can you help me out, dear?”

“Sure, Mom! What do you need?” She asked adorably.

“Well…”

What I needed her to do for me was quite simple: set up a spiritual rebirth formation. It wasn’t hard to pull out; we simply combined barrier formations together.

The first layer had Spiritual Materialization Barriers that strengthen and materialize Spirits into stronger forms.

The second layer was Rebirth Barriers, which regenerate cells and recover bodies rapidly, a regeneration effect that is very powerful and useful in large battles.

And then several Fusion Barriers, usually used to combine elemental attributes, which we used to combine the endless Rebirth of Cells with Spiritual Materialization.

“And done!”

Athena was a genius when it came to Formations, the large, white, and gold-colored formation was made in just a matter of seconds, a hundred layers in just a small, ten-meter big, square-shaped formation on top of Mars’s barren soil.

Then I placed Bloodclaw’s soul at the center and the flesh right next to her. She looked nervous, but she stayed still as I told her.

“This might hurt a bit, but bear with it, alright?”

“V-Very well…”

FLAAASH!

The formation activated once everything was ready. The several layers spun around as the runes inside of them began to twist and glow.

The reanimated cells began to instantly regrow out of nowhere, forming a heart in an instant, then lungs, bones, arms, legs, flesh, and muscles rapidly grew at the same time as the soul expanded and merged with it.

FLUOSH!

A bright flash of white light encompassed the entire formation in that moment, as I saw white scales of various tones appearing across the skin, then colorful feathers, fingers and legs, and the tail, being the last thing to grow, looked quite fatty, filled with reserve nutrients.

“Aaah! E-Eh? Ohhh?! I-I’m back… I’m alive?! I’ve been revived!”
