While we're suggesting Kevin Costner movies (IDGAF what anyone says), I'm throwing in Silverado (1985), Revenge (1990), Dances with Wolves (1990), the Extended Version of Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (1991), The Bodyguard (1992), Waterworld (1995), Open Range (2003), and Horizon: An American Saga - Chapter 1 (2024). #MoreKevinCostnerForAddieCounts

2024-09-19 14:25:02 +0000 UTCYeah, but (I don't care what anyone says) I would like to see her watch the Steve Martin duology, which I think she'll enjoy a lot more. #ThePinkPanther2006ForAddieCounts

2024-09-19 14:21:12 +0000 UTCI know you said you were unsure in a previous Q&A but have you given any additional thought to watching Super 8, possibly in October since that’s when you save scary movies for? Yes, there are a few scary parts but I can promise you it’s a very fun and funny movie also, I think you’d like it a lot.

2024-09-17 23:56:39 +0000 UTCSpoiler alert: she just added it to her Letterboxd 'Watched' list. 🤐

2024-09-17 16:09:04 +0000 UTCHi Addie firstly I wanted to say I love your reactions and secondly I wanted to ask if you'd consider watching more Tarantino movies specifically Django Unchained?
Felix Lara
2024-09-16 22:33:52 +0000 UTCDude, what is your damage? Just tell Addie your suggestions and leave me alone. I don’t care about your list, freak. And, also, the mere fact that you typed that whole first response DOES imply you thought I would care. Why else would you go through the effort of typing all of that? Sorry I want impressed. Go sell crazy someplace else.

2024-09-16 15:11:20 +0000 UTCAre you familiar with the movies of John Waters?
Andre Agog
2024-09-16 03:55:18 +0000 UTCAddie was also aware of the pop culture surrounding The Shining (1980). Yes, I do aim to see Addie watch a few edgier movies (like straight pure action, war movies and crime thrillers) once in a while but there are also several light-hearted movies that I want her to watch as well, even after she watches a movie that either scarred her or broke her. She's very jumpy when it comes to the darker stuff. However, she does appreciate how well made the intense movies that she watched were, but those are also the kinds of movies that she doesn't see herself rewatching. *EDIT: Even in some of my RFQs where two tonally different movies are pitted against one another, she goes for the one she prefers the most, depending on the movies (ie: Mamma Mia! (2008) over The Dark Knight (2008) & Barbie (2023) over Oppenheimer (2023)).* We all have different tastes in the kinds of movies that we like and I want to make sure she can also watch more movies that she'll actually like as a pallette cleanse. I'm just trying to be more considerate to the kind of movies that Addie likes as well.
Alex Tan
2024-09-15 14:40:05 +0000 UTCIn addition to "Being There," I'd also recommend Sellers' 2 collaborations with Stanley Kubrick: "Lolita" and "Dr. Strangelove"... as well as "The Party" and "The Mouse That Roared," the latter in which, as in "Dr. Strangelove," he also plays 3 different characters.
Byrd N. Hand
2024-09-15 13:12:07 +0000 UTCI’d be down for a Peter Sellers Clouseau movie. 🙂 I also liked him in Being There.
Doug
2024-09-15 12:58:19 +0000 UTCBut, really, for how many other genres are there movies that would be considered 'too intense' for *adult* viewers outside of horror? A few dramas (particularly war and crime dramas) and thrillers, maybe, but that's about it, I feel. Even Cassie from Popcorn in Bed acknowledged in her interview on the Passionfruit podcast that she ultimately still appreciates having watched "The Shining" for the sake of pop culture, no matter how much it traumatized her. I wish Addie would have the same outlook. And if she had an additional editor on her payroll (hint, hint, Addie), she'd only have to watch these movies *once.* 🤷♂️
Byrd N. Hand
2024-09-15 12:19:28 +0000 UTCDid I ever imply you should? I'm sure there are movies on my list that you don't give a shit about her reacting to as much as I don't give a shit about her reacting to Ace Ventura 2. That's the thing about opinions, isn't it? 🤷♂️
Byrd N. Hand
2024-09-15 11:59:39 +0000 UTCI'd much rather Addie react to the original Inspector Clouseau/"Pink Panther" movies with Peter Sellers (the 5 that were made in his lifetime, anyway).
Byrd N. Hand
2024-09-15 09:58:06 +0000 UTCYeah, my question was for Addie. Not sure why you think I give a shit about your opinion.
Cameron Kerby
2024-09-14 19:54:11 +0000 UTCSo you have Batman, Magneto, Wolverine, Iron Man, Captain America, Venom, Scarlet Witch, Thanos, Thor and Deadpool. 3 will protect you, the others will try to kill you. Who are your 3 bodyguards?
DazzNovaNature
2024-09-14 19:31:12 +0000 UTCI think that the reason why horror tends to get the "kid gloves" treatment is because most wholesome reactors, like Addie, have a particular limit on how much scary stuff they can handle. If Addie subjects herself to too much horror movies, then she's gonna be thinking about them for the rest of her life. It's no wonder why she urges us to suggest more fun and not-so-scary Halloween movies to her.
Alex Tan
2024-09-14 19:20:01 +0000 UTCI'll also add Father of the Bride (1991), Father of the Bride: Part II (1995), SGT Bilko (1996), Bringing Down the House (2003), The Pink Panther (2006) and The Pink Panther 2 (2009). #MoreSteveMartinForAddieCounts

2024-09-14 19:09:17 +0000 UTCNow that you’ve been doing this a few years, have you noticed any interesting trends in viewer counts you hadn’t thought about when you started? For instance, are certain types of content more popular on Patreon than YouTube, or were you surprised by particularly high numbers or low numbers on specific YouTube reactions?
Doug
2024-09-14 12:44:39 +0000 UTCAre you still active in the musical theatre world?
HarperCraven
2024-09-14 12:26:55 +0000 UTCShe's watched 2 bona fide horror films in each of these last 2 Octobers ("The Shining" and "Alien" in 2022, and "Halloween" and "The Thing" last year), so I'm hoping for at least another 2 this year. 🤞
Byrd N. Hand
2024-09-14 09:46:59 +0000 UTCHi Addie. I just went through all your Star Wars reaction videos which were absolutely amazing!! My question is, Jedi or Sith??
Brennan
2024-09-14 03:46:04 +0000 UTCI agree, Addie needs to dip her toe into some true horror. Just even ONE tried and true horror movie for October would be worth it. .
Thats MR. Baldamort
2024-09-13 19:43:27 +0000 UTCI was suggesting sports movies. Mistakenly, I thought Addie had already seen Field of Dreams. Of course it should be included. I also neglected to mention the charming but lesser known cycling film American Flyers.
Justtired
2024-09-13 18:35:33 +0000 UTCThe double standard so many people seem to have for horror movies compared to all other genres still baffles me. 🤷♂️ Jen Murray also isn't a fan of horror flicks, yet she still watched "The Exorcist" for her channel. I expect no less from Addie -- especially given that she's going to eventually run out of mild horror titles, so she might as well embrace it now.
Byrd N. Hand
2024-09-13 17:58:58 +0000 UTC100% Agreed here. The Exorcist (1973) is DEFINITELY a bonafide classic that I've been suggesting ever since last year and hopefully Addie gives that movie a chance this year.
Alex Tan
2024-09-13 17:43:08 +0000 UTCInvoking Kevin Costner movies without mentioning "Field of Dreams"? I'd also add "No Way Out," which has maybe the best twist endings of all time.
Byrd N. Hand
2024-09-13 17:40:08 +0000 UTCFFS, Luis, stop discouraging her from watching bona fide classics from a particular genre. 🙄 Why does horror continue to get 'kid gloves' treatment for reactors more than any other movie genre?? 🤷♂️🤷♂️
Byrd N. Hand
2024-09-13 17:35:13 +0000 UTCPlenty of choices: the Danny Ocean, Harry Callahan, Jack Ryan, "Naked Gun," "Mad Max," and, given its recent sequel, the "Beverly Hills Cop" series as well.
Byrd N. Hand
2024-09-13 16:23:38 +0000 UTCI'll add "Pennies from Heaven," "Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid," "The Man with Two Brains," "The Lonely Guy," "All of Me," and "Parenthood."
Byrd N. Hand
2024-09-13 16:08:07 +0000 UTCSince your near the end with your Mission Impossible and Planet of the Apes journey, are there any franchises you started that you’d consider finishing, like Karate Kid for example would be a popular choice?
Andrew Storing
2024-09-13 14:53:16 +0000 UTCHi Addie, a Steve Martin comedy poll might be a good one at some point. 🙂 (At first I thought you didn’t have any but then I remembered you did watch Planes, Trains, and Automobiles a while back.) My top suggestions would be: - The Jerk - Dirty Rotten Scoundrels - ¡Three Amigos! - Roxanne - Bowfinger
Doug
2024-09-13 12:45:19 +0000 UTCFranchise-related movies I'd personally all prioritze her reacting to before that particular movie (the first one being the second unfunniest movie I've ever seen after "Wedding Crashers" -- full disclosure): - the first 20 James Bond movies - at least the second "Lethal Weapon" movie - at least the second "Ghostbusters" movie (providing she also does a re-watch of the first one) - "The Matrix Reloaded" and "The Matrix Revolutions" - "Godfather III"/"The Godfather Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone" - "Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines" - the last 2 "Naked Gun" movies - the 4 Harry Callahan (aka 'Dirty Harry') sequels - "Prometheus" - "Red Dragon" and "Hannibal" - the third and fourth "Beverly Hills Cop" movies - the first 2 Christopher Reeve "Superman" movies - Tim Burton's 2 "Batman" movies - the original "Mad Max" trilogy - "2001: A Space Odyssey" and "2010: The Year We Make Contact" - "The Night of the Living Dead" (1968) and "Dawn of the Dead" (1978) 🤐
Byrd N. Hand
2024-09-13 10:49:14 +0000 UTCThe fact that she hasn't apparently still seen the original animated version of "101 Dalmatians" (more or less the only major movie from Disney's 'Golden Era' that she hasn't) makes me wish she'd put it in a future poll.
Byrd N. Hand
2024-09-13 10:23:35 +0000 UTCWell, yes, obviously Addie herself has the final say. That always goes without saying... but let's be honest: the MCU isn't in the same place it was prior to a couple of years ago. Many people out there believe there's no longer any clear vision in what Marvel Studios is doing (particularly since the end of Phase 3) and it's become widely hit-and-miss -- especially when it comes to the TV shows. That's almost certainly why her reactions to Secret Invasion and Echo have done rather poorly on YouTube (still her only videos to not reach 10K views -- and all still not even close 🤐), and why, given the total lack of enthusiasm from the general public around this show, I feel it will suffer the same fate. If she wants to watch it, so be it, but I'm hoping she's aware of what she's getting into if she watches it for the channel... and especially if she edits it for YT.
Byrd N. Hand
2024-09-13 10:09:43 +0000 UTCHi Addie! Would you consider watching the movie "Frequency?" It's not a horror movie but it does take place in October (and is suspenseful)! 😂
Matt Rowland
2024-09-13 08:00:48 +0000 UTCGreat recommendation! I always take the month of October off from reactors because of all the horror films they do.

2024-09-13 06:26:54 +0000 UTCMy daughter’s name is Daphne. Out of the blue she told my wife and I that she really liked her name and wouldn’t change it if she could. That really meant a lot to us because when you pick a name, all you can do is hope they like it. Oh yeah, this is supposed to be about a question… The name Addie is not very common, do you like it? Would you change it if you could? Is there any story behind the name? Have you met other Addies? Does anyone misspell it?

2024-09-13 05:01:11 +0000 UTCI recently rewatched Forrest Gump after not having seen it since your 2022 reaction. Two years later, which moment remains the most impactful to you? How about the most comedic? Please think about your answers before you read further so that I don't bias you. ... For me, the clear winner is the line "Is he... smart?" when Forrest meets his son; it makes me cry every single time! A close second is the graveside scene near the end, particularly the fact that Forrest understood Jenny well enough to bulldoze her father's house, and then the tearfully delivered line "I miss you, Jenny!"

2024-09-12 21:20:19 +0000 UTCYou have slowly gone from someone who didn’t really know or like sci fi into a lover of some of the biggest sci fi classics so I have a few sci fi themed questions: 1: what color of lightsaber would you have if you had one? 2: after watching Alien, Predator, and the Thing, which of those classic alien monsters would you feel most confident in facing? Which would scare you the most? 3: since you loved Bladerunner, would you rather be a replicant on the run or a bladerunner forced to hunt them down?

2024-09-12 20:40:45 +0000 UTCHappy September Addie. Would you have any interest in reacting to WWII in HD on the channel? It is a documentary so it isn’t something people typically react to, but I know how much you enjoyed We Stand Alone Together and this isn’t much different.

Also, does he have a favorite reaction?!? Or favorite movie you have or haven't reacted to? As for my wife she's fine with it as she herself isn't too much into movies but much much more so with games. And yes she thinks I'm kinda nuts! But then she sees my reactions to your's, PiB's (especially when Carly is there), Ames and now Whimsory too; she understands. She loves it when Carly is with Cassie as she'll watch parts of some movies 'with me and them.' lol Again thank you all! Ollie still wants to watch his Ancestors in "Dances with Wolves" (1990).

2024-09-12 17:30:48 +0000 UTCHi Addie, just wanted to get some personal suggestions down for possible entries in a Halloween movies poll for next month. 🙂 - Tucker and Dale versus Evil (very funny horror comedy!) - Young Frankenstein (Although you’re probably already planning this one 😄) - The Omen (the original with Gregory Peck, not the remake) - Let the Right One In (probably my favorite vampire movie. Both the original and the US remake are great) - An American Werewolf in London (an older John Landis horror comedy with some pretty amazing practical effects!) - 28 Days Later (My favorite non-comedy zombie movie) - Get Out (the horror film that got Jordon Peele on the map for this genre) - What We Do in the Shadows (an offbeat Taika Waititi horror comedy) - The Cabin in the Woods (a funny, odd mix of a horror film that includes a younger Chris Hemsworth in the cast) - Midsommar or Hereditary (two excellent disturbing horror movies from Ari Aster. - The Exorcist (one of the top classic horror movies of all time) - The Ring (A terrific creepy movie!) - Child’s Play (The movie that made Chucky famous) - Event Horizon (Very creepy sci-fi horror with Laurence Fishburne and Sam Neill - Drag Me To Hell (a fun horror movie from Sam Raimi who did the Toby Macguire Spider-man, the Evil Dead films, and Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness) My top two picks for you from this list would be Young Frankenstein and Tucker and Dale versus Evil. But honestly I think they’re all pretty solid films (with some being scarier than others. 😉)

2024-09-12 16:48:33 +0000 UTCWith October around the corner, here are some not-too-scary recommendations for spooky season: Trick 'r Treat (2007), Creepshow (1982), Cat's Eye (1985), Nightmares (1983) (You probably won't be able to find Nightmares streaming, but keep it in mind because it is full of 80s goodness!)
Luis Fernandez
2024-09-12 16:47:04 +0000 UTCMovie executive Addie has the grand idea of making a Mission Impossible / Planet of the Apes crossover movie. Would you rather see Ethan Hunt and team cross to a parallel dimension where apes rule society, stop a bad guy, then find their way back... OR... would you rather see ape versions of Ethan and team perform daring feats and save the day?
Luis Fernandez
2024-09-12 16:46:42 +0000 UTCOkay this isn't the question I remembered but it's one I want to ask. Of the Mission impossible films up to this point, you have seen Tom Cruise do so many cool stunts. 2024-09-12 16:04:03 +0000 UTCIn your New Years Instagram photo with Ollie, I noticed that you were wearing white boots. Is there a backstory to that and which fall outfits go well with them? Have you seen the behind the scenes footage of the Mission: Impossible film series yet? If so, what did you think of it? You can find it in my comment replies of your full-length reactions on Patreon. In your recent July Q&A, you did mention that you found Barbie (2023) more rewatchable than Oppenheimer (2023). Did the film's message resonate with you or was it mainly because of the emotional value it had (as in it made you laugh, cry, etc.) and do you have any strong opinions regarding people disliking the movie for its message, its target demographic, and the prospect of more films like this one &/or more Mattel film adaptations? Speaking of Barbie, have you heard? An animated Barbie movie is now in the works. Do you think we need another Barbie movie, does Jeremy agree? Does Jeremy also find Barbie (2023) rewatchable? In your last Q&A, you did mention that you look up to your grandmother. Is she from your mom's or dad's side of your family and which one got your your "A" necklace? Which upcoming Disney movie, that was just announced at this year's D23 Expo, are you most excited to see, Moana 2 (2024), Mufasa: The Lion King (2024), Snow White (2025, Live-action), Elio (2025), TRON: Ares (2025), Zootopia 2 (2025), Freakier Friday (2025), Toy Story 5 (2026), Moana (2026, Live-action), Frozen III (2027), Incredibles III, Bambi (Live-action) or Hercules (Live-action)? HALLOWEEN MOVIE SUGGESTION QUESTIONS: Will you react to the 2000 Extended Director's Cut of The Exorcist (1973) for Halloween? Will you react to Coraline (2009), also for Halloween? Will you react to Totally Killer (2023) with Kiernan Shipka, Olivia Holt and Julie Bowen? It's a fun & not-so-scary slasher comedy that my girlfriend & I watched for Halloween, last year, and we both enjoyed it. Will you react to Nope (2022)? My girlfriend & I also watched this movie in IMAX in July 2022 and we both enjoyed it. HOT TAKE: Despite the box office failures of the 2021 movie musicals In The Heights, Dear Evan Hansen and West Side Story, do you think that movie musicals still have a future, regardless of people's changing attitude towards them?
