TRON: LEGACY - Full Length Reaction!

Here's the full length reaction to Tron: Legacy! This one is SO GOOD! Between Tron and Tron: Legacy, it's amazing to see how much the special effects have evolved in those 30ish years. Enjoy!

Might as well also throw "Ghostbusters" on there. (I know she saw the first one, but lost her reaction to it; I still move that she eventually do a rewatch of it to make up for it... and then she can finally watch the sequels). Ditto "The Terminator" (though #3 is the only other one I personally care about). "Beverly Hills Cop" and "Lethal Weapon" appear to soon to be additions as well. Also, it might be easier to get her to watch "The Exorcist" than "Doctor Sleep"... 🤔

"Beetlejuice" was one of the first movies she watched for her channel, but, unfortunately, she apparently lost the file containing her full reaction to it (as well as those for "E.T.," "Ghostbusters," and "Edward Scissorhands"). 😕

Also, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang with Robert Downey Jr and Val Kilmer. And Beetlejuice. Sorry, I keep finding movies you haven't reacted to.

Hi Addie! Here's a movie for you. Heat, 1995, Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and Val Kilmer. And the rest of the cast is 10/10 too. Please consider it.

I was barely 7 years old when this came out. Me and my dad went to a midnight showing in 3d and had the whole theater to us (well after opening week, obviously). I haven't seen many movies in 3d, but I remember this one the most because the 3d played into the film. All the footage of the "real world" was just normal footage. The 3d effect only kicked in when they were on the grid. It was a very cool idea. It made the grid seem even more interesting and punched up the contrast between the two worlds. (Also, the part in the end of line club where a grapple is fired straight at the screen to steal Flynn's disk made me not just flinch, but duck fr). I didn't actually see the original until years later, but you were right about it being made easy to follow without seeing the original first. i followed it just fine (for a 7-year-old. Obviously the more complex and subtle points went right over my head at that age. I ducked out of the way of those too!)

So true hahaha

"How can he be so afraid of his own creation? I mean, He built Clu. Why doesn't he just end him?" "He could but it would require 'Reintegration.'" "Yeah, all right." "Flynn would never survive the event. It would mean the end of them both."

Great film. Great Actors but must say I do love Beau Garrrett (Gem) in this. Her eyelashes come in the room 5mins before she does. 😘

The soundtrack really elevates this movie. Just outstanding stuff from Daft Punk.

I'm so glad you enjoyed this movie as much as you did, Addie! Even though I have a soft spot for the original, I do like this one better. The first one was a much "nerdier" movie, the themes in this one are more universal. Fathers and sons, chasing perfection, at its core it's a very human story. It's remarkable how well the visual effects have held up 15 years later. The only exception would be the de-aging of Jeff Bridges for the flashbacks and for CLU. That sort of tech was still a bit rough back then, and it shows. But aside from that, I'd put the visuals of Tron Legacy up against any movie coming out today. Also, this is one of only 3 movies I thought was genuinely improved by watching it in 3D, the other two being Avatar and Doctor Strange. The clean surfaces and stark lines of the computer world translated very well to 3D, plus they used the same camera system that was used for Avatar, it wasn't converted to 3D in post-production. They did a really neat trick with the 3D too, they started the movie in 2D and switched to 3D when Sam went into the computer world. It was similar to how The Wizard Of Oz switched from black & white to color and back, and it worked really well when you saw it. One of the special features on the Tron: Legacy blu-ray was a 10 minute short film titled "The Next Day". It shows you a bit about what went on in the world after Flynn disappeared, and the immediate aftermath of Sam taking back control of Encom. It's probably not worth filming a reaction to, but it's a fun little watch that I recommend. Someone put it up on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OIy_9GLWqfI if you want to check it out. #FlynnLives

Classic movies released in the 80s with popular sequels released decades later: (Two down, three to go!) Top Gun✅ Tron✅ Blade Runner ⬅️ Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure ➡️ The Shining➡️

Addie, want to know something insane about Flynn? He wasn't trapped in the grid for 20 years. Time flows differently on the Grid. Hours in the grid = minutes in real life, which means from Flynns perspective, he wasn't on the grid for 20 years but a mere 2000 years trapped inside!

I second Friday Night Lights (2004). That movie's gonna move Addie to tears. It's definitely one of my favorite football movies. It also has Billy Bob Thornton, Lucas Black and Lee Thompson Young (RIP). #FridayNightLightsMovieForAddieCounts

Happy Friday, Addie! 😊 I've been so excited for you to get to this movie. As much as I enjoy the first movie, this one is my favorite of the two. And I'm already looking forward to the third installment "Tron: Ares" which is filming now and is to be released next year. A couple of other movies starring Garrett Hedlund(Sam) that I recommend is the 2010 movie "Country Strong" and 2004's "Friday Night Lights". Definitely looking forward to watching this reaction later this evening. Have a great day today & a great weekend! 😊

Speaking of Joseph Kosinski, who directed this movie and Top Gun: Maverick (2022), I also suggest Oblivion (2013), with Tom Cruise & Morgan Freeman, and Only the Brave (2017), with Josh Brolin, Miles Teller, Jeff Bridges and Jennifer Connelly. #MoreJosephKosinskiForAddieCounts

I've never clicked so fast.

Happy Friday, Addie. TRON: Legacy (2010) is my all-time favorite live-action Disney movie. In fact, I like this movie a lot more than most of the Disney live-action remakes that came out in recent years. The VFX for this one really holds up better than the first film. I own the IMAX version of the movie on Blu-ray with the aspect ratio switch being retained for seven scenes. Here's how the lightcycle sequence appeared in the IMAX version. https://youtu.be/SqSuRdkglxM?feature=shared TRON: Ares (2025) comes out in October of next year and that's gonna be my most anticipated Disney movie of 2025.

I love Tron Legacy. It came out just before the 80s nostalgia really hit its stride.
