Fun fact for you addie, there was entire plot line cut from this movie where his wife thought he was cheating on her, but they cut that out, but left the part in where she was so unbelievably relieved to see him with a friend which is why she was crying but it was edited to look like she was just overjoyed to see him home. Also, their house is the same house used to film the first Home Alone movie.

All I remember was that this was a funny one.

Im so thankful that you watched this movie for this week! I love this movie. The ending always gets me as soon as you see those two walking down the street with that music playing.

What a wonderful way to start Thanksgiving week! Let the festive feelings begin and take us into the New Year!

Another great cross country comedy from the 80s, like this one, is The Sure Thing. It stars John Cusak, and is one of my favorite roles of his. Very funny and touching.

Looks like I’ve got my evening entertainment lined up for tonight! Happy Thanksgiving, everybody! And a special Happy Thanksgiving to The Platinum Pixie!

Steve Martin has been my hero since I was a kid in the 70s. I just love how he can make anything funny. I have at least three of his stand up albums memorized word for word. And John Candy is always amazing, especially in Uncle Buck and Cool Runnings. RIP :(

Thanks for this, Addie. πŸ—πŸ₯—πŸ–πŸ°πŸ»πŸ¦ƒ

You've got to love Kevin Bacon's totally random cameo at the beginning. A few actors from John Hughes' previous film - "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" - also have bit parts here: you've got Ferris' dad (Lyman Ward) as Neil's co-worker who sees him off to the elevator at the beginning, the boring teacher (Ben Stein) as the airline attendant in Wichita, and the school secretary (Edie McClurg) as the rental car receptionist. Then you've also got Dylan Baker in one of his earliest roles as the redneck who drives them to the train station.

Rest in piece to John Candy. This movie hits harder knowing that ending with how lonely he is knowing he's gone. John Candy brought a little piece of himself to each movie he was in. He mentioned in some interviews that he has always felt a bit lonely.

Yes to those too.

Also "Pennies from Heaven," "Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid," "The Lonely Guy," "All of Me," "Roxanne," and "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" for Martin.

Class love it. 😘

Happy Monday, Addie! 😊 Such a great way to start off the week. This is the perfect Thanksgiving movie. And it's one of my all-time favorite Steve Martin and John Candy films. Definitely looking forward to watching this reaction later this evening. For another great Steve Martin movie I very highly recommend the 1988 "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels". And for another great John Candy movie I very highly recommend the 1988 "The Great Outdoors". I hope that you have a great day today! 😊

I *knew* this would be coming today. 😁 Gonna put it on right now.
