I love rewatching this movie, too. Such a feel-good movie. I've commented something similar on another reactor's channel, and I'm not sure if you all have heard, but they're apparently planning a sequel for the 20-year anniversary (which is so crazy to say because it doesn't feel like it was that long ago when I watched this in theaters lol). Don't know the details about that potential project, but I do know that, unfortunately, Kevin Clark, the actor that played Freddy (the drummer) won't be a part of it. Sadly, he passed away more than two years ago. It was actually a bike/car accident that took place literally a few blocks from where I live here in Chicago. A spraypainted bike in white that's covered with flowers is a common form of tribute/vigil for cyclists that were killed in car accidents. And, sorrowfully, it's a common site that's seen around this city :( A bike was set up as a vigil for Kevin as well near the intersection where the accident occurred, which is at the corner of a movie theatre. It's still there today, so that's nice that no one has messed with it and that the city rarely, if ever, removes the vigils. Anyway, sorry for the sad information, I just thought I'd share since he had a big role in the movie. I really hope they do move forward with this sequel. I wonder if they'll find a way to pay tribute to Kevin, and it would just be cool to see all of them together again as adults with Jack Black. Plus, something fun to hopefully look forward to experiencing again someday with everyone else here if they make it. :)

And for a fun connection to the MCU, the lead singer of No Vacancy is Adam Pascal, who Broadway fans may know from things like being Roger in the original cast of Rent, but in the MCU, he’s the lead in the Rogers musical which was featured in Hawkeye.

Ian Forbes

The earliest movie I saw him in (where I knew who he was) was The Cable Guy. Then I realized I had seen him before in Bye Bye Love and Demolition Man. (he didn't die in any of those). High Fidelity I think was his breakthrough role, then he started getting lead roles. He was great in Saving Silverman and Shallow Hal. And I enjoyed him in Polka King.

They already knew how to play their instruments. They had been playing since they were 4 years old. That's why they were selected.

I swear, Jack Black just plays as himself in all the movies hes in. He never plays a character, hes just himself having fun xD

Speaking of learning the songs. https://youtu.be/refCJcJJZso?si=Vp7wqv6Cqjq8g_Al They had a reunion

I second Dazed & Confused (1993).

I haven't seen the extended version of Peter Jackson's "King Kong," but, unlike his 6 Middle-Earth movies (or Ridley Scott's "Kingdom of Heaven"), I'm not really convinced that movie needed one. πŸ€”

I totally underestimated how good this was going to be! I'm happy to have been proven wrong.

Billy Dancel

This movie is fairly atypical of director Richard Linklater's works. Many of his films are very talky and fairly plotless, such as "Slacker," the 'Jesse and CΓ©line' trilogy ("Before Sunrise," "Before Sunset," and "Before Midnight"), "Waking Life," and "Boyhood" -- thus, I'm not sure how good of a reaction video any of them would make. But "Dazed and Confused" would make for a great reaction for a summertime movie, as would its semi-companion piece "Everybody Wants Some!!". I'll also throw out "Fast Food Nation," "A Scanner Darkly," "Bernie" (also starring Jack Black), and "Last Flag Flying."

I would unironically listen to No Vacancy lol

Chris Shine

Back in the early to mid 90s, I would see Jack Black in small parts in a lot of movies, and his character always died. One day I was watching some B movie where he did not die, and I remember thinking "he must be moving up in the world." About a year or so later he started to become a big star and showing up every where.

This is such a fun movie. Loved your reaction. Since you are on a Jack Black streak, and since the season is coming up, I'll recommend you watch the rom-com The Holiday (2006). I'm betting you've already watched it, but I'll mention it just in case.

You should watch Jack Black again in the Extended Edition of King Kong (2005). #KingKong2005ForAddieCounts

That's honestly so impressive!!

Happy Friday Addie. School of Rock is one my favorite Jack Black films, Tenacious D is another good one I recommend. Both of them introduced me to rock music and its culture. I got Paramount Plus just in time to watch along.

DazzNovaNature

Yep the actors all actually learned to play these songs and instruments, there is no lip syncing and no mimicking. They learned all this for the film :)

Happy Friday, Addie! 😊 This is one of my favorite Jack Black movies. Definitely looking forward watching this later this evening. Have a great day today & a great weekend! 😊

Speaking of Miranda Cosgrove, who plays Summer Hathaway, I also suggest Yours, Mine & Ours (2005) and the Despicable Me film series. #MoreMirandaCosgroveForAddieCounts

Speaking of Jack Black, I have three movie suggestions: The Jackal (1997) with Bruce Willis & Richard Gere, Enemy of the State (1998) with Will Smith & Gene Hackman, produced by Jerry Bruckheimer & directed by Tony Scott, and the EXTENDED EDITION of King Kong (2005). #MoreJackBlackForAddieCounts

Happy Friday, Addie. I'm so glad that you enjoyed School of Rock (2003). I plan on watching this movie tonight.
