2025-10-22 11:44:39 +0000 UTCWhat his crew understands about Luffy after travelling with him so much, is that Luffy does not give a crap about his own past nor does he feel the need to share at all. Luffy only cares about those he cares about and food, if you were an enemy to him in the past but now he cares about you he doesn't give a crap about what you did before nor will he brag about fighting you in the past to other people. The only things his crew know about the past are things he's shared due to the crew bugging him about it and when it's relevant to the present (such as, the crew finding out he had a vice-admiral grandad but only because that person was seemingly threatening the whole crew, or when he mentioned Dragon to Ivankov, but only really because Ivankov brought it up in the conversation relating to what his plans in Impel Down were) The only reason they even know Shanks gave Luffy his hat is because he almost lost it, Zoro rescued it, then asked him what was special about the hat, and Luffy answered because he was grateful to Zoro for saving his hat. If you think back, when Luffy gave Nami the hat she didn't even know that Shanks had given it to him, all she remembered (you could see a short flash back) was Luffy saying it was his treasure to Buggy, so she appreciated the gesture based on that but she didn't at that time have any knowledge of the hat's history. I'm sure they'll find out details of what he went through in impel down (such as when Chopper learns that he was poisoned severely before, because it was relevant), but it would only really come up in bits of conversations and off-screen moments, if the crew actually tried to sit Luffy down and make him tell them the whole story he would probably get bored, have a tantrum, then storm off looking for something fun to do after 2 minutes, unless the story was extremely relevant and important to help with a current predicament.

And then they’re like Marco, just act surprised every time but not do shi. They should especially mention it because they feel horrible for not being there for him when he actually tore up. Even Law came and saved his life, he a better doctor than chopper. I actually feel like Shanks is the only one that has sense for Luffy. I want to know why he loves Luffy so much, you can’t tell me “He saw Roger in him”, I don’t buy that shit. That guy literally made a decision to come to the war for Ace and Luffy, and then he buried Ace on behalf of Luffy, because Luffy never got the chance to visit Ace’s grave after he was killed. I don’t think his feelings changed after figuring out Luffy’s dad is the most wanted man on earth. Luffy better ditch his crew and become one of Shanks’s crew or something lol. This idiocracy is the type that gets on my nerves than it is comedy.
