Ask me anything!

It's almost time for this month's Q&A! Ask a question, any question!

Comments

I'll admit, i haven't gotten to the Q&A from the previous months since i started with you (extremely busy. push to make sure i have time to watch your reactions cause i love them as much as i do 🙂). so, this is, perhaps, something someone has already asked (if so, i apologize). but....do you have professional vocal training (school training/beyond school training)? when you've said certain things you tend to "sing" them and your voice gets quite melodious and you have a wonderful vibrato. (was a vocal major in music education for a few years till i changed majors)

Sensei Dave

While I consider "Vertigo" to be Hitchcock's most overrated film (with "Psycho" not far behind), I would definitely love to see more reactions by Addie to pre-'90s movies.

Byrd N. Hand

TBR Schmitt still gives the best and most in-depth/insightful post-movie discussions, as far as I'm concerned (with OctoKrool being a fairly close second), but I always appreciate any time a reactor offers their initial thoughts at the end of their video. I don't care as much about giving a movie a concrete rating, since not everyone always picks up on every single detail in a movie the first time around.

Byrd N. Hand

"Uncle Buck" is another John Hughes reaction essential, as is the original "National Lampoon's Vacation" (though he merely wrote that one); hopefully Addie reacts to that one sometime this summer. "Planes, Trains and Automobiles" is another Hughes essential, but, as others have observed, it would be best if she reacted to that one around next Thanksgiving.

Byrd N. Hand

Hi Addie, Absolutely love whenever you give your thoughts after watching a movie. Glad you added that to your reactions. One thing I've noticed is that you very often mention how much you love the movie (rightfully so, you're definitely picking good ones!), but it's difficult to understand what that fully entails. Q: Would you maybe consider also rating the movie on a scale from 1-10 after each reaction? Would perhaps be difficult to do as you always seem so enthusiastic, but it'd be lovely to hear!

Crastie

Don’t you ever plan to finish some of the movies series you started? I know some people say the rest of the movies ain’t good or these are all the movies you need to watch, but you might still enjoy them. For example Pirates of the Caribbean and The Matrix.

Everett (PixelMight) Baker

While reviewing my Patreon pledges recently, I was reminded that some creators offer a discount for paying annually of between 10% and 16%. Have you considered such an option? I realize that such a change might reduce the revenues from your existing supporters, but perhaps it would attract additional patrons and stabilize your cash flow? FYI, I'm no accountant, and I'm staying put whatever decision you make, because your content is worth it! 😁

Phil Stubblefield

Out of the movies you reacted to, which ones would you recommend to someone who hasn’t watched any of them

Jake Stokes

Anyway so now that I have left the French Lord behind, and answered the 3 gestions the Bridge Keeper asked (at the bridge of death,) I am at Castle "AAAaaaaaaaaa" where the Holy Grail is. Will there be any problem just walking in and getting the Holy Grail?

Aaron Taft

Last month I asked you about the guard at the French Castle. You are correct! His Lord did not want to join me in my quest for the Holy Grail because he "he's already got one" What did you think of this Monty Python Joke? I mean, its ridiculous right? how can they already have one? There is only ONE Holy Grail correct?

Aaron Taft

I captured a man... Big Fella; after we tied him up he said to me, "all you people are so scared of me. most days, I take that as a compliment. But it ain't me you gotta' worry about now." Who is this big fella talking about? On an Unrelated Note: Dose it tickle your curiosity when people ask you questions about movies, (like Vin Diesel's Pitch Black,) that you haven't seen yet?

Aaron Taft

How would you rank all of the Oscar-winning movies (particularly movies that won the Academy Award for Best Picture) that you've seen? So far, you've reacted to The Silence of the Lambs (1991), Forrest Gump (1994), Gladiator (2000), The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003) and recently, Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022), and outside the channel, you've seen The Sound of Music (1965) & Titanic (1997). My guess is that LOTR is at the top. Oh no! You're a damsel in distress and Jeremy has to rescue you. What kind of perilous situation would you choose to be trapped in, becoming a sacrifice (like Evy) for Imhotep the Mummy to resurrect his love interest, Anck-su-namun, being captured (like Elizabeth Swann) by Captain Hector Barbossa and his cursed pirates, including Pintel & Ragetti and Jack the monkey, to perform a ritual to break their curse by cutting your hand that holds the Aztec gold coin, getting stuck in the sticky & slimy nest of the Alien Queen, surrounded by a horde of Xenomorph aliens, hundreds of Ovomorph eggs with Facehuggers in them, and Chestbusters popping out of a few dead humans that slither to you like snakes, or being trapped in Vecna's mindscape (like Max Mayfield) where he torments you with your ophidiophobia (fear of snakes) in which Jeremy has to play your favorite song to get you out of the mindscape? Did you know that Back to the Future Part II (1989) & Back to the Future Part III (1990) used the VistaGlide camera system? That explains why Michael J. Fox played Marty's kids, Marlene & Marty Jr. in Part II and his great-great grandfather, Seamus in Part III. Link: https://youtu.be/AewF7UaH9zM Skip to 2:45 to learn more about the VistaGlide camera system. Will you react to Strange Days (1995)? Will you react to Joker (2019), with Joaquin Phoenix? Will you react to Heat (1995), with Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, and Val Kilmer? Will you react to more John Hughes movies (including Sixteen Candles (1984), The Breakfast Club (1985), Weird Science (1985), Planes, Trains, and Automobiles (1987), and Uncle Buck (1989))? Will you react to the Bourne movies (including The Bourne Identity (2002), The Bourne Supremacy (2004), The Bourne Ultimatum (2007), The Bourne Legacy (2012), and Jason Bourne (2016))?

Opinions on what?

Bill W

Marvel related Questions Q1: Which X-Men power would you like to have? Q2: Would you rather be an Avenger or be part of the X-Men?

DazzMetalStorm

How do you choose to eat an Oreo? Twist & lick? Twist & scrape? Dip & bite? We must know!! (Also, sock / shoe & sock / shoe? Or Sock / sock & shoe /shoe?)

Jon Johns

Since you're loving Chris Tucker's comedy, would you consider watching him co-star with Ice Cube in the stoner classic "Friday," maybe in time for 4/20/23?

Bill Rudd

Perhaps *unpopular* opinion would be a better way to put it than 'worst'...

Byrd N. Hand

I've recommended "American Graffiti" to her privately (as well as its '70s counterpart "Dazed and Confused") as one of several summertime-themed movies for her to watch starting when summer actually comes. Hopefully she sees the list. FYI, The Rob Squad actually just recently did a reaction to it, and Shanelle Riccio did one last year. And I know Madison Thames, at the very least, has done "Jeremiah Johnson." Duaffy has done "The Elephant Man," but it's still just a Patreon exclusive. But, yes, some more pre-'80s (hell, even *pre-'90s*) movie reactions would be nice. She has previously expressed interest in the "Godfather"trilogy.

Byrd N. Hand

More of an FYI but I'll phrase it as a question: Have you heard? The Return of the King will be having its 20th anniversary next month (April) and some theatres will be showing it in a limited capacity. You might want to check if it will be playing near you - it really is something worth seeing on the big screen!

Luis Fernandez

I know that you're into Musical Theatre which I think is really cool. Q1: What got you into theatre? Q2: Would you like to check out a few musical films in future? Such as: Mamma Mia, Hairspray, Enchanted and Pitch Perfect etc. I think you would love Hairspray.

DazzMetalStorm

What are one of your best and one of your worst opinions? :D

DaftBasterd

Hey, Addie! Have you ever considered reacting to some older classics? Tons of hidden gems: Casablanca (1942), Citizen Kane (1941), Taxi Driver (1976), Vertigo (1958), Raging Bull (1980), Star Trek: OG (1966-69; first season and first half of second is really good), etc.

Lance Li

Hear, hear. I will NEVER suggest Anaconda (1997) or Snakes on a Plane (2006) to Addie at all. Whenever I suggest a movie to her, I'm always putting out a warning whenever there's a scene involving snakes in any of my suggestions to her. Most of the movies that she reacted to that feature snakes in them, usually aren't central to the main plot, but if it's a movie that's primarily about snakes, then those won't work for her recommendation list at all.

Alex Tan

There are some older highly rated films that no one reacts to. Would you consider doing an only old movies poll occasionally? Examples with RT ratings: The Last Picture Show 100% American Graffiti 96% Jeremiah Johnson 95% Withnail And I 94% Midnight Express 93% Elephant Man 92% What's Up, Doc? 91%

Allen Bond

I’m hoping one day you will give in and get a P O BOX. You said that your fear was to get snake related items in it. You could always get Jeremy to help you out and pre-screen the gifts. I’m sure many people would be happy to spoil you with some items. As for my question… Would you like to be informed ahead of time if a movie suggestion features any snakes in them? You could always decline. Your channel, your videos, you have the final say every time!! A few to rule out right now… snakes on a plane and the anaconda movies (4) Take care. Addie!!

Billy Dancel

How big of a donation would you require to watch breaking bad? I want to go through that journey with you 🥺

Jack Marsden

Speaking of Ollie, in your May Q&A, you did mention what Titus has named you. Do you wonder what Ollie has named you and is he an Addie's boy or a Jeremy's boy?

Alex Tan

Of course, the question of the day is: How is Ollie doing? Are you all settling into a new family routine? I hope we'll be able to see that handsome pup! For your last AMA, I had related the story of my dad being unable to last even one day without a pet after losing their dog of 15 years. Shortly before that AMA aired, my family had to put down our last remaining guinea pig, Bumper, at the ripe old age of 6, leaving us without pets for the first time in over a decade. Well, I'm happy to report that we've just adopted two guinea pigs from the Seattle Animal Shelter, and we'll be meeting a foster care provider this weekend to consider adding another one or two! Bragging pictures are available upon request... 😁

Phil Stubblefield

Speaking of "Top Gun: Maverick," are you ever going to attempt another edit to finally make it stick on YouTube (as you did for the also-twice-blocked episode 2 of The Last of Us)... or have you given up on that endeavor?

Byrd N. Hand

What made you decide to start a reaction channel, and how has it affected your life?

Mathias

Does your family & friends know that you do movie & tv show reactions? Do they 'get it' or is something confusing for them but just accept it because you enjoy it?

Nathan Swapp

How long has it been since you opened up your computer to clean out all that dust? Better hop to it before it's clogged with your dead skin cells.

LightsCameraJake

Hi Addie, I remember how much you enjoyed the musical number that was shown during the "Hawkeye" Disney+ show. Did you know that "Rogers the Musical"(the show Clint took his kids to see)is actually going to be coming to Disneyland as a short one-act play during the summer?

Randee Carreno

Now that you've seen Groundhog Day (1993), which deals with the concept of déjà vu, will you react to the sci-fi action movie Déjà Vu (2006), produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and directed by Tony Scott, the filmmakers of Top Gun (1986)? Speaking of Tony Scott, in your August Q&A, I suggested his movies to you, since you reacted to Top Gun (1986). Some of the movies that I forgot to suggest to you are Crimson Tide (1995), Enemy of the State (1998) (both produced by Jerry Bruckheimer), The Hunger (1984, for Halloween), Revenge (1990, with Kevin Costner), The Last Boy Scout (1991, with Bruce Willis), and True Romance (1993). Will you react to those movies as well? In your last Q&A, one of the movies that was suggested to you was Armageddon (1998), which was produced by Jerry Bruckheimer & directed by Michael Bay. Will you react to the Jerry Bruckheimer-produced Michael Bay movies Bad Boys (1995), Bad Boys II (2003), The Rock (1996) & Pearl Harbor (2001)? Will you react to more Jan de Bont (Dutch: [ˈjɑn də ˈbɔnt]) movies (including Speed (1994), Twister (1996), and The Haunting (1999, for Halloween))? If you look him up, he was the cinematographer of Die Hard (1988).

Alex Tan

Despite being your least favorite scenes in movies, and your worst fear in general, how would you rank the snake scenes that you handled better? So far you were able to handle the brief snake scenes in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (2006), and Casino Royale (2006). Will you react to Uncharted (2022) with Tom Holland & Mark Wahlberg? My girlfriend & I saw it in IMAX, with the film's aspect ratio opened up to 1.90:1 for three scenes in the movie, last year, and enjoyed it. Speaking of Mark Wahlberg, will you react to Fear (1996)? Reese Witherspoon also stars in this one. Will you react to the Jerry Bruckheimer-produced Chris Hemsworth movie 12 Strong (2018)? Do you know about Tyler Durden? On an unrelated note, will you react to Fight Club (1999)? Will you react to more Sylvester Stallone movies (including Rocky (all six films and all three Creed movies, though Sly isn't in Creed III (2023) and only produced it), Rambo (all five films), Cobra (1986, This is a cop movie and NOT a snake movie. Sly's character's nickname is coined after his lethal abilities, like the snake itself. An image of the snake does appear on the grip of his gun but there are no live ones in this movie.), Tango & Cash (1989), Cliffhanger (1993), Demolition Man (1993), The Specialist (1994), Judge Dredd (1995), Assassins (1995), and Daylight (1996)? Will you react to more Martin Campbell movies (including Criminal Law (1988), Defenseless (1991), No Escape (1994), GoldenEye (1995, the first Pierce Brosnan James Bond movie), The Mask of Zorro (1998), The Legend of Zorro (2005), Vertical Limit (2000), Beyond Borders (2003), Edge of Darkness (2010), The Foreigner (2017), The Protégé (2021), and Memory (2022))?

These are a set of five movie-related questions from the technical side: ARRI (/ˈæri/) Alexa Mini LF or Sony Venice? They're both IMAX cameras used on Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021, ARRI Alexa Mini LF) & Top Gun: Maverick (2022, Sony Venice) Links to help: https://www.imax.com/content/imax-launches-new-filmed-imax-program-worlds-leading-digital-camera-brands https://www.thecameradept.com/news/minilfvsvenice Anamorphic or Super 35? So far you've reacted to Guardians of the Galaxy (2014), Captain America: Civil War (2016), Doctor Strange (2016), Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017), Thor: Ragnarok (2017), Black Panther (2018), Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018), Captain Marvel (2019), Black Widow (2021), and Eternals (2021). All these movies have switched from 2.39:1 to 1.90:1 in IMAX for some scenes in them. There is a feature on Disney+ called IMAX Enhanced, which I think makes watching these movies so cool. Did you know that there's an extended version of Jurassic World: Dominion (2022)? Did you know that there are more LOTR movies in the works? That means we get more stories in Middle Earth. Favorite song by Selena Gomez? Have you read The Fault In Our Stars and have seen the movie yet? If so, what did you think of both the movie and the book? It's my girlfriend's favorite movie. She recommended it to me. I watched it and enjoyed it. Now that you've seen Scott Lang watch National Lampoon's Animal House (1978) in Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018), will you react to that movie? A VERY IMPORTANT MOVIE RELATED QUESTION: If you had to choose between Oppenheimer (2023) or Barbie (2023), which movie would you choose & why, and which movie would Jeremy choose? I asked this because this is the ultimate box office competition of the year as they both come out on July 21st. Links to the trailers: Oppenheimer (2023) (https://youtu.be/bK6ldnjE3Y0) Barbie (2023) (https://youtu.be/8zIf0XvoL9Y)

In your last Q&A, you did mention that before recording it that you forgot to get some Ben & Jerry's and Häagen-Dazs ice cream from the grocery store, causing you to put the ice cream taste test on hold. Did you remember this time? What was the most romantic memory that you have with Jeremy? I asked this because I think that you and him are such a sweet couple, just like my girlfriend & I. Has he seen Top Gun: Maverick (2022) yet, if so, what did he think of it? In your January Q&A, you did mention that his zodiac sign is a Capricorn, has he figured out his lunar animal yet? In your June Q&A, you did mention that you relate to Monica from Friends (1994-2004). Which character from that show does Jeremy relate to? Did you do anything special for your birthday? In your December Q&A, you did mention that one of your favorite sweaters was a waffle-knitted purple mauve type. Was that the turtleneck from your reactions to The Shining (1980), The Green Mile (1999), and Hawkeye (Episodes 1-3)? What is your go-to casual outfit of choice, like when you're going out with your friends or on a date with Jeremy?
