There is a very good behind the scenes for both season 1 & 2, but in short: The writers & producers held Luke secret even for the production and went soo far as even making fake CGI of another character so it woulnd't leak that way (very common for stuff to leak with third party companies), very few people knew about Luke.

Then, I saw the X-Wing. If anyone is allowed to spoil a huge scene it’s Mark Hamill. He tweeted that comment. Of course, it’s my own fault for not turning the episode on immediately. 2023-03-08 18:15:43 +0000 UTCKnowing that you were to this episode today I had lots of tissues ready for when I watched this one. I still very misty eyed during the ending. Before I talk about the end, I'm going to comment on everything before that. We now have Bo Katan and Koska Reeves on board to get Grogu back. Love the action sequences with Bo Katan, Fennec Shand, Cara Dune, and Koska Reeves once they were on board Gideon's ship. It took Mando some time to get rid of one Dark Trooper. And shooting the rest out of the air lock was a good idea until they came back later on. Absolutely loved the Mando vs. Gideon fight. And now, Din Djarin is the owner of the Darksaber. And that ending..... It always amazed me that they were able to keep the return of Luke Skywalker, and R2-D2, a secret. Fun Fact: Mark Hamill was in fact on the set filming those scenes along with a really good body double who looked almost like Luke would've 5 years after Jedi. There's a great behind the scenes documentary on Disney+ on how they pulled off Luke's appearance on the show. Definitely worth checking out when you have time. And Din removed his helmet again, so that Grogu could see his face before his left with Luke and R2-D2. "The Book of Boba Fett" is really good. Just letting you know that the last 3 episodes are the main reason for watching that show before Mando season 3. The last three episodes of "The Book of Boba Fett" is like "The Mandalorian" season 2.5. Have a great day today! 😊
