Just catching up on the watch along. Yeah, a powerful image of the shield at the end of the episode. Wyatt Russell did a awesome job in his debut performance as John Walker. I can’t wait for his next appearance. Also, shoutout to Sebastian Stan! Nobody does emotional facial expression & body language like him. I always love it when we can see, feel, and be moved by a complete emotional journey in one scene with little too no dialogue from the character. Powerful stuff indeed.

2023-02-08 06:00:36 +0000 UTCSo yeah that happened. But John showed here he's not some mindless monster. He's got a really dark past in the military and has probably done some terrible things. Yet, ue was rewarded and called a hero for it. Thats the issue with being a soldier. So I actually feel for him. Plus, he actually pondered about the serum, not wanting to become corrupt. But power isn't really what corrupts... its the people themselves. While he's not evil, he's super unstable so that, like everything else, is amplified. Thats what Dr. Erskine said about the serum in the first Captain America. The serum amplifies what's inside. And yeah that kill scene was perfectly reminiscent of Steve bashing Tony in Civil War. When Steve raised the shield, he could've killed, but instead he controlled himself in the heat of the moment and disabled Iron Man's suit. John, in the heat of the moment, raised the shield and killed him.
