STAR WARS: EPISODE IX - THE RISE OF SKYWALKER - Full Length Reaction!

Here's the full length reaction to Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker, the last of the Sequels! I honestly enjoyed a lot of elements of the Sequels, but I know that it's easier for me to enjoy them since I don't know a lot of Star Wars lore! I've heard a lot of amazing things about The Mandalorian, so maybe I should check that out somewhat soon?? Enjoy!

For me, the 'core saga' *WAS* always Star Wars for me, so I was never going to be interested in all these 'side story' movies and TV shows (though I'm fine with them existing). But, unfortunately, they completely botched the ST and left no viable path forward for Episode X and beyond, and, thus, left me no choice but to not give a shit anymore (unless they completely redo the ST and this time actually stick closely to the story George Lucas gave them to use in the first place; I don't care if they have to recast most if not all of the OT characters to do it -- let that be a scarlet letter on Di$ney for not doing it right from the start).

I think one if the problems these movies were always going to face no matter their content is there are a lot of star wars fans who got into the expanded universe (legends) that was clean slated when disney bought star wars. The EU had some really good content and fully grew out the characters and their families. The important thing though is that you enjoyed them. I did as well. Definitely need to get into clone wars and the live action shows for sure. Clone wars especially as it really makes the prequels shine. Thank you for sharing this journey with us

Yes please start the Mandalorian as soon as you can. You will love it!!

To kind of add to this comment, Dave Filoni may not have been the hand picked successor for Lucasfilms when George Lucas sold sold the company, but he is the hand picked spiritual successor for Star Wars. Dave worked side by side with George for so many years on the animated shows and spent so much time with him that he understands George's thinking about storytelling and all of his knowledge of Star Wars lore. Many of the characters and stories that Dave created were informed from his intimate knowledge and collaboration with George. Dave also draws upon his own knowledge about how to tell a story that connects with today's audiences and what they want to see. When you finally do get to watch The Mandalorian, you will see why so many people feel that it is the closest thing to the original movie trilogy than any of the other movies.

Yes. The Mandalorian is fantastic and luckily pretty short too.

Hope you check out the clone wars soon

Hi Addie. Most important thing to know about the Mandalorian is it takes place just a few years after Return of the Jedi, years before Rey is born. While so many of these movies (other than the original trilogy) fell flat, the Mandalorian is written and show run by the team of John Favreau (of your boy Iron Man fame) and Dave Filoni who was the creative behind the great animated shows. The Mandalorian is widely viewed as the first live action SW show to capture the "magical" feeling of the original 3 movies. Your going to love it.

Still wondering why Poe was suddenly dressed like Brendan Fraser in "The Mummy" here... 🤔 Please tell me we're not going to miss out on a reaction to "A Christmas Story" this year at the expense of this??

Byrd N. Hand

That's one of my biggest criticisms. They somehow managed to get all the original cast back and had the perfect opportunity for them to have one last adventure. Instead we got 3 movies where Luke, Han, and Leia do not have one single scene all together. And now that opportunity is lost forever.

Happy Wednesday, Addie! 😊 Fantastic timing for posting this. Yesterday was the 3rd anniversary release date for this movie. Due to the sudden death of Carrie Fisher, all of the scenes with Leia were re-worked deleted scenes from the previous two movies. Fun Fact: Carrie Fisher's daughter Billie Lourd played Leia during the flashback of her training with Luke. There were things that I really liked about this movie. Loved seeing Billy Dee Williams back as Lando. We got to see Luke as a Force Ghost. And that scene with Han and Ben was perfect. I always shed a few tears during that scene. Not sure if this is true, but I saw somewhere that the moment that Ben Solo turns back to the light he was supposed to have that scene with Leia. But after Carrie Fisher's death, Harrison Ford came back for this one scene to honor her. You should definitely watch "The Mandalorian"(season 3 starts March 1st). Such a great show! Have a great day today! 😊

Although not my favourite of the Star Wars movies, there were a few moments that almost brought a tear to my eye. Seeing an old friend for the first time in the sequels was one of those moments. Although I'm not a fan of where they showed up. There was somewhere else I would have preferred them to be but I guess we can't always get what we want

"The Mandalorian" for sure! ✌️🙂

I even saw it in IMAX with my dad and my best friend, when it first came out. One of the previews was a 6.5 minute prologue to the Christopher Nolan movie Tenet (2020), hopefully you'll react to that movie soon.

Happy Wednesday, Addie. I'm glad that you enjoyed Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Even I watched TFA, TLJ, & TROS with low expectations as well. I STILL, to this day, don't see why this film and The Last Jedi get so much hate from hardcore Star Wars fans. My hype level for this movie was elevated when J.J. Abrams returned to direct. As always, May the force be with you.
