THE GREEN MILE - Full Length Reaction!

Here's the full length reaction to The Green Mile! I think... I think this is truly the most I've ever cried in a movie (and I've cried A LOT in some of the movies I've reacted to so far). What an absolutely heartbreaking movie with such powerful performances by the cast.

"On the day of my judgment, when I stand before God, and He asks me why did I kill one of his true miracles, what am I gonna say? That it was my job? My job?" Alabama, Florida, Kentucky, and Tennessee. Arkansas, Mississippi, and Oklahoma still have the electric chair as an option for execution. The last execution by electrocution in the US was in 2020 in Tennessee. The inmate chose electric chair over lethal injection because of recent problems with lethal injection. The last person to be executed by electric chair without the choice of an alternative method was Lynda Lyon Block on May 10, 2002, in Alabama.

And believe it or not, but one Shaquille O'Neal was actually originally considered to play John. He certainly looked the part, but I doubt he had the acting chops to really make John work the way MCD did. And, yes, Mr. Jingles does apparently die at the end of the book, though it's not made as clear in the film.

Hi Addie. Ray here. Im finally back again.. And let me explain a few things About this movie. ----------------------------------------- 1: Michael Clark Duncan (Aka, John) got recommanded by non other then Bruce Willis. To Frank Darrabont, To play John Coffey. 2: When John said "Careful" "Careful" he said that directly to Paul.. cos John knew in a way.. who was coming in. 3: When Del got Exccuted. John took most of his pain, thats why he was shaking so much.. Cos he knew Percy was put on the spot. And.. Del was Excecuted because he was Gay.. 4: When John Saved Melinda from her Tumor, He did not spit out the flies then and there, like he always does.. so he could give those to Percy.. so he would kill Wild Bill.. and messes his head up in the same time (two birds with one stone, in fact) 5: I belief, Mr Jingles Died at the end of the movie.. thats why Paul said. If he can let a mouse live so long, how much longer do i have. ❤❤❤ Ray. P.S i hope this helps you a bit.

Also family of the convicts' victims, as we saw the parents of the 2 murdered girls at John's execution.

This is one of those movies I watch every reaction to, because it’s the only one that seems to guarantee tears. Oscar-nominated and still underappreciated in its time. The book is much more Old Testament in its vibe. Very “Vengeance is mine, saith the Lord.” Stephen King is clearly horrified by capital punishment, and feels it’s an inhumane practice. On the other hand, Coffey does use Percy as a divine instrument to take vengeance on Wharton - and on Percy himself. It’s pretty layered. King writes a lot of different stuff. You should check out Stand By Me, another great example of his non-horror output. It’s a beautiful movie about friendship, coming of age, and death, although not in the same way The Green Mile is.

Great timing because I'm actually working on the Jurassic World Dominion edit now! (October got a lil weird because I was recording more movies for Patreon than I could edit for YT at the time & I needed to make sure the spooky movies went up within that month) Still getting blocked every time I try uploading a new edit of Maverick, so it'll be up as soon as it's not blocked :)

Hi Addie! Loved the movie and your reaction to it. It actually needs witnesses on executions in order to make sure everything will be done right. Often there is family, a priest and state officials present.

Yes, this movie tends to leave reactors in a blubbering mess. When my family first rented this not long after it came out on home video, my dad and I watched it *3* times, we were that engrossed by it. Stephen King has claimed this is the most faithful adaptation of any of his works -- though it still omits the crimes for which Arlen and Del were convicted, as well as the ultimate fates of all the other characters in the story besides Paul (minor spoiler: none of them die of old age). I believe there's also more urination in this movie than any other I've seen... 🤔 P.S. Are you ever going to put "Jurassic World: Dominion" or another attempt at "Top Gun: Maverick" back on YT?

Hear, hear. Armageddon (1998) is the one movie I would love to see Addie react to because it also stars Ben Affleck (GWH) & Liv Tyler (LOTR).

Happy Wednesday, Addie! 😊 So glad that you watched this one. Really looking forward to watching it. RIP always to Michael Clarke Duncan! He and Tom Hanks were fantastic in this movie. I keep forgetting that this was based on a Stephen King novel. I very highly recommend the 1998 movie "Armageddon" also with Michael Clarke Duncan. And another fantastic Tom Hanks movie the 1993 "Sleepless in Seattle". Have a great day today. 😊.

Speaking of Michael Clarke Duncan (RIP), I suggest Armageddon (1998, produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and directed by Michael Bay), The Scorpion King (2002, But watch The Mummy Returns (2001) first. WARNING!: There are THREE SNAKE scenes in this one), and The Island (2005, also directed by Bay, WARNING!: There is a brief SNAKE scene in this one). With David Morse, I suggest The Rock (1996, another Bay/Bruckheimer movie), Bait (2000), Proof of Life (2000, with Russell Crowe & Meg Ryan), 16 Blocks (2006), & World War Z (2013, UNRATED).
