That whole "turning the ground into spikes" is Ed's specialty XD I think the key with how they said "No" to the question of Shigaraki ordered them to betray the Yakuza is that.... he actually didn't. So even if that quirk forces them to tell the truthful answer to a question; Shigaraki never actually gave them a direct order to sabotage or betray the Yakuza. All he said was "just play nice with them for now, and we'll figure out the rest later", so even if was implied; the only order that he genuinely told them to do was simply wait. It isn't technically lying if you just don't tell someone more than what they asked about.

2025-08-24 04:46:20 +0000 UTCFun fact: The name of Mirio's special move in the original version was "Phantom Menace", but it had to be changed to "Phantom Threat" in the English version, because it would be a copyright infringement on the Star Wars movie with the same title (it was allowed to stay the same in the Japanese version, because Japan has very liberal copyright laws).
