Lucky, did you notice that a soldier who was arguing with king's brother while horseback was the same actor who was the king's soldier arguing with the Hound about chickens? I think he is typecast for this particular character. Also, I'm not even sure that the Vikings prefer to have the plunder without a fight. They did in this case, but from what I understand they value glory even more then the treasure. I mean look at the old man who was happy to die. I don't think he's an exception in their culture - the only exceptional thing about him is that he managed to live this long with such mindset (average life expectancy was below 40).
