This movie finished with no thoughts of a sequel. There are a few other "Top Gun" style movies with Helicopters and others but they weren't even close. We got the sequel we never knew we needed and it blew beyond any of our possible expectations!! Old and New music! Old and New names. The best Old and New lines..... "Talk to me, Goose" "Talk to me, Dad"

2022-09-19 18:27:58 +0000 UTCBTW, the reason why the visual style of this movie is faithful to the original is because they were honoring the legacy of the original film's director Tony Scott, who's memory this film is dedicated to. Tony was hired to direct the original Top Gun after producers Don Simpson & Jerry Bruckheimer saw his film The Hunger (1983) & a SAAB car commercial. Not only that, the music is like that for the original film because it was composed by Harold Faltermeyer, who scored the original film. He was also joined by Hans Zimmer & Lady Gaga, who also wrote and sang the film's love song, Hold My Hand.

2022-09-19 16:24:00 +0000 UTCHappy Monday, Addie! π I love this movie!!! Definitely my top movie of the year so far. This movie ranks as one of my all-time favorite movie sequels. It's right up there with "The Empire Strikes Back" and "Terminator 2: Judgement Day". Miles Tiller was perfect casting as Goose's son. And it was great seeing Val Kilmer again . I think, not positive, that this has been his only acting role since his throat cancer diagnosis. Have a great day today! π
