2025-03-01 02:24:18 +0000 UTCNami saying "Luffy, help me" is so powerful. It brings us back to the Arlong park arc. The arc where Luffy, for a nakama, felt unstoppable for the first time. Arlong didn't stand a chance! AND THEN, he could do absolutely nothing to save Nami from Kuma. He was totally helpless. And that was very well thought out on Oda's part. In this episode, we understand that Luffy was the most powerful pirate in the East Blue. He was probably one of the most powerful pirates in the first part of Grand Line. But when faced with New World pirates or high-ranking Marines, he's a rookie like any other. To be honest, we already kind of figured it out when we had to compare him to some characters. Crocodile, Enel and Ace. He beat Crocodile and Enel because... PLOT ARMOR. And he's clearly 20x less powerful than Ace. Even Moria could have beaten him if Luffy hadn't had so much help!

You should've taken our warnings more seriously XD If it's any consolation; next arc brings it back to a fairer mix of seriousness and hilarity. <3 (You know; thinking in retrospect, this episode really should've been my first clue that I was going to end up giving up on the series. So if it was just him by himself, without having to worry about anyone else, it may be that he'd be able to fight better also

2025-02-25 23:20:15 +0000 UTCYou caught most of the extreme character traits/parallels like Luffy wanting to run for the first time and how Nami repeated her line from Arlong Park, but this time Luffy wasn't able to save her. I think there are more examples like the Luffy one to show how extreme our crew was pushed. You may have caught how Usopp said Zoro is even more useless than him with his injuries which is the opposite of the reliable Zoro we are supposed to have in his top form. Usopp is actually brave and tries to protect his crew. Chopper goes monster point and uncontrollably attacks his crew even though his duty is the ship doctor. Sanji, who never uses his hands in a fight, grabs onto the Pacifista's leg, just trying to do anything to slow it down to protect his crew. And Robin, who the crew swore to always protect at Enies Lobby, who's always calm and collected, is now screaming for help as she is the last one to be erased before Luffy. No one, not even Luffy could protect any of their nakama—rude awakening before we could make it to the New World.

Also wanted to point out you saw how those bubbles popped every time Kuma erased one of the strawhats, we were told that the bubbles pop when they leave the island climate, that's why buying those bubble bikes is a scam lol. So the bubbles popping kinda symbolize how each one of us left the island when we got sent flying away.
