IT'S WALKY!!! I've had a lot of thoughts about Walky and his place in the story recently ATM. He's spent most of his time in the story in relationships which is how he's defined in the cast. He was with Dorothy for most of the story and then he had the thing with Amber and then Lucy which is who he's spent most of the post timeskip story with. Dorothy and him as they currently are are unfortunately doomed unless Walky starts to actually stop and look at himself and finally start growing as a person. The whole Incelerator thing has started to kick certain gears into shift that i REALLY want to see play out. Honestly my biggest wish this chapter is to have an encore of the Joe and Dorothy scene but with Walky and Joyce. Of all the interactions i want to see Joyce and Walky actively confronting each other is up the highest because of how their dynamic has been the entire comic. Walky has admittedly been a fucking asshole to Joyce for most of the comics run and even then when repeatedly given the chance to do right by her has done wrong unless strongarmed into doing so by Dorothy. He's gotten better but i think retroactively it's hard to look back at those early chapters and not think something is up. Walky has through most of the comic been coasting easily going from one relationship right into the other and basically never being forced to grow as an individual. When faced with Joyce he's in front of someone he's consistently treated super badly and actively fumbled into the negatives during his first interaction but in another timeline he woulda done anything for her and grew so much. But instead this time around she's the one who's grown. She would do ANYTHING for Dorothy while Walky can only bank on being allowed to hit it because he's goofy. The barrier between these two characters i think at it's core IS Dumbing of Age. Joyce despite everything is constantly willing to endure everything Walky does, she keeps coming back and keeps letting him get away with all of this stuff, because he's kinda silly with it. I CANNOT get into JoyceXWalky in the year 2025 right now so i will abstain and only say that i REALLY want to see these two interact and how their whole Deal collides in this very specific way.
