GAME OF THRONES SEASON 7 EPISODE 6 REACTION!!!

Comments

To be clear, from seasons 1 to 6, Game Of Thrones had a "Lord of the Rings" treatment. From season 7 onwards, it became the "Star Wars prequel" or even the last Star Wars trilogy. We go from a complex fantasy-medieval lore with a lot of politics, relationships, sex, houses and developed psychologies, to a big budget series with a lot of action, fan-service and dramatic romances. So yes, it's Game of Thrones so we like what we see. When Daenerys arrives to burn the army of the dead, we are hyped! When the Hound exchanges with Tormund, we can't remain stoic. BUT there is still an aftertaste that we didn't have in the other seasons. ONCE AGAIN, how long did Daenerys take to fly from Dragon Stone to beyond the wall?? And how was Jon on the verge of hypothermia able to travel on his uncle's horse to the wall without any problem? How long did Daenerys wait for him? Because it feels like she waited for him for 2 hours while Jon had a horse... Gendry ran to the wall in one scene earlier in the same episode! What's going on ?? This is too easy! It really feels like there was a retcon. Jon was born with a high rate of midi-chlorians and now everything becomes simple from the moment he says it in his rocky voice. Daenerys has reason to be turned on BUT confused! Jon is my favorite character but I have to admit that the UNOFFICIAL storyline of season 7 is much more accommodating with him than with Daenerys. To the point where it's confusing...

I Highkey hate Jon Snow; for SOOO many reasons lol. But one of the top 2 reasons is what we saw here. He got Viserion killed because he wanted to be a big, Macho dumbass. His stupidity literally gave the Army of the Dead a fighting chance.

Yes, this season is action packed, but I think you start picking up on plot holes in the lazy writing by now. It doesn't feel like the script was written by R R Martin. All dead men except one conveniently died as soon as the white walker died? If I'm being charitable, I'd say that he is the one who was turned by another white walker and just happened to join this white walker's group. But even this sounds far fetched. The only reason Jon Snow fell behind is so they could finally kill Benjen Stark. I see no other explanation for that scene. On another note, I think Littlefinger told Sansa to send Brienne away so he and Sansa can kill Arya without Brienne getting in the way. A lot of action overall, in every episode, but at this point it feels too rushed and not very well written. The other seasons had about 1-2 huge actions scenes per season, and the rest were intricate politics, which took time to develop. Now, it's basically all action episodes with no nuance. I liked the earlier seasons for grey areas, where you could see everyone's perspective and understand it: Tywin's, Jamie's, Margerie's, etc. Now It's all black and white - Night King bad, Cersei bad. I think the general consensus was that the writers were trying to wrap the show quickly as they wanted to work on the Star Wars reboot movies.
