Let's be honest, the editor arbitrarily chooses to reveal spoilers or not depending on what he wants to suggest to Lucky or not. Since Lucky didn't see any way for Luffy to progress, the editor wanted to whisper in his ear that it was possible. Quite simply. I'm really not a fan of this way of doing things but if Lucky is ok with it, who am I to judge? xD

2024-07-13 12:16:34 +0000 UTCHe didn't have to fight the fishman to not be considered a bitch in the scenario, he just had to untie zorro or at least put a knife in his hand so he can untie himself while Usopp ran away at least. We understand he stood no chance against the fishmen, but that doesn't mean he didn't stand a chance against a rope... Plot armor doesn't come into that decision, he didn't need to fight, and plot armor protects him from dieing to multiple fractures all the time anyway, so I don't think plot armor should really be involved with this subject.

2024-07-11 18:33:17 +0000 UTCI disagree, guys xD For me, his cowardice is mainly there for comic effect and to avoid the plot armor as much as possible. When Usopp leaves Zoro at the mercy of the fishmen, it's because there's no way he can do anything against two of them! The plot armor is exceptional when it comes to Luffy and Zoro even though they are combat prodigies! So Usopp, in order not to rely entirely on the plot armor, has been categorized as "comic relief" so that we forget most of the moments where he should not survive. Quite simply. In fact, I never took Usopp seriously. This is the truth. I respect him because of what Oda is trying to tell with this character. The story of an ordinary, prankster boy who becomes incredibly brave and experienced thanks to ONE encounter that changed everything. And calling him a "bitch" is a bit harsh on what Oda is trying to do. Even Sogeking is one step of this evlolution. That's my point of view anyway lol

The fact that he makes up "I'll die if I land on an island desease" whenever he sees a new island, even though Nami who is also normal and also scared doesn't say something like that, makes him a bitch. The fact that he left a heavily injured Zoro tied up to the ship when they arrived at Arlong/Nami's island because he was scared of the fishman makes him a bitch. (and it's not the only instance of him doing things like that even if he fixes things later) The fact that he was perfectly happy using Karue AND Chopper as fishing bait at different points in time, even though he would be mortified to be used as bait himself, makes him a bitch. And it's not the fact that he did this once, it's the fact that it's a fairly regular part of his character, and I'm just naming instances that Lucky has seen, not all the content he hasn't seen yet. I'm not saying he's necesarily out of place, a lot of us would probably have similar reactions in many of these situations if we weren't super strong, but it doesn't change the fact that all of these regular instances makes him a bitch. A brave, very smart, creative, inventive, heroic at times, bitch. I love Usopp, but it's part of his character.

The fact that he wanted to leave his village to become a pirate and follow in his father's footsteps, does that make him a bitch? The fact of having agreed to follow Luffy, Zoro and Nami too? Does the fact of having faced so many powerful pirates and marines make him a bitch? Also helping to stop a coup in Alabasta? Does helping to free Robin at Water 7 make him a bitch? Even though nothing obliged him to do so. He was no longer part of the crew. Usopp is a comic relief character AND the member of the crew who had the least experience and skills when he left his island. So of course he's less sure of himself than the others. But that doesn't make him a bitch, on the contrary. And that's why Luffy asked him to be part of his crew! Not for his warrior skills. For that, he already has Zoro ;)

Just prepare yourself for a lot of thoughts you might have involving "how" to just not be explained. This arc is Oda at his most... Oda. Which basically amounts to "don't question it; just get hyped~"
