Not quite, I don't they just said they appear once a generatiom, they just said that they were rare. Both Licht and the other guy with light magic are 4 leaf users from the sane generation. It's rare, but it can happen.

You said someone said it was ok to watch the opening? well they were wrong because it was kind of spoilery, but luckily you didn’t catch it. Also to clarify some things the dub kind of messed up and used a mistranslation. The dub mistakenly said “this grimoire chose Licht, so I can’t use it” which is wrong, the sub actually said “this grimoire chose the soul that inhabits this body so I can’t use it” And he was referring to Vageance, that 3 leaf grimoire is Vageance’s grimoire (which has been shown before) Also every single grimoire is unique, none of them are the same that’s why there are multiple 4 leaf grimoires so more than one person can have a 4 leaf grimoire at the same time.
