ONE PIECE EPISODES 235-236 REACTION!!!

Comments

I felt the same way as you when I first watched it

Bogoz aa

The fact that usop is glady willing to fight his captain or ex captain but when Franky brothers got to him he wasn't this determined to fight them back this says a lot I think oda just want us to hate usop on purpose here it's blasphemy

Twix

Ahaha some fillers were dope, some were horrible lol So i can understand lol

Lazar

I can concede that point. U can actually argue he's the bravest, cuz he fears the most and still goes throuth with it lol

Lazar

Ps I appreciate your response, I wasn't expecting it on an episode from 2 weeks ago tbh. I had to go on a small hiatus in order to be able to get through the filler reactions lol, that stretch of filler episodes were tough to get through lol, but I appreciate your reacting to them

Krowft

I accept your viewpoint is also logical, I was just pointing out that a defense for Usopp doesn't just come from compassion But also note, if someone doesn't fear anything at all, is he really capable of bravery? So Usopp is very cowardly, that's undeniable, Nami is also but not as much, but she was just as afraid of the Giants and Enel etc. But if we accept that Usopp is the most cowardly, then whenever he choses to face his opponents should equally be looked as all the more brave, should it not? You could argue: he shouldn't be afraid of that opponent in the first place. But again, he's a normal human in a world of superhumen, Nami is also afraid of her opponents just slightly less, making her also brave, but we should care not to discount Usopp's bravery. Don't get me wrong, it's hard to see it sometimes because his cowardice takes centre stage a lot of the time so I get it. I'm just pointing out the other side of the coin.

Krowft

Sure, but i said all of that througu my reactions always. U have recency bias, u watched this episode where i came after him more than usual, and u forgot all the times i did praise him. Every situation u mentioned by you was praised by me as well. Nami is also a normal human and a girl and she is not visibly scared and cowardly as Usopp. My approach is logical. I always speak from that point of view. I never disrespect him just for the hell of it, maybe if im making a joke. Again, even if Usopp was not on the crew, and the ship didnt make it half the distance, we would just buy a new one.

Lazar

I have to come to Usopp's defence. And not from a compassionate point of view but a logical one. You said yourself, Usopp was our shipwright until he wasn't, so as far as the ship managed to go, it would not have made it half the distance if Usopp was never on the crew. You say he's useless, but if not for his inventions Nami wouldn't have survived Alabasta or Skypeia when she got attacked by Enel. You say he's always a coward, but forget that bravery is not the absence of fear but the willingness to push through it. And while I'm not disputing that he is generally a coward, if he lacked bravery he wouldn't have been able to even take down Jango in his hometown due to the fact that he was really scared at the time. You have to understand that in a shonen world of powerhouses, Usopp is only a few steps ahead of a regular person, it is reasonable for a person to be afraid of explosions and people that can destroy houses with a punch, and yet he still sticks with the crew and fights through his fear when it has counted. He went to Sanji to face what was apparently a literal lightning God and rescue Nami, all while being scared for his life, if that is not brave, what is? As I said, my approach is a logical one, I am not denying that he is generally cowardly, but I am also putting his situation into perspective.

Krowft

Yes u can. Cuz i constantly give Usopp props for being very handy with tools and fixing things. I only call him useless in a fight. U cant hear me calling Usopp useless and then ignore when i give him praise. You cant have it both ways 😏

Lazar

You constantly praise Nami's weapon but also constantly call Usopp useless, can't have it both ways

Krowft

Ahaha interesting! Well, glad i'm unique lol

Lazar

Nah I did. You were being genuine with what you felt. This reaction was just completely out of the ordinary, but it made it entertaining.

Cameron B

Ahaha u didnt like my takes?

Lazar

Finally got a chance to finish this and wow lol. I've probably seen half a dozen reactions to this set of episodes, and this has to be the wildest takes I've ever seen. Nothing wrong with having a unique interpretation, but it's definitely...interesting.

Cameron B

God Ussop

Abdullah

His thing is that he's only brave when he's defending his friends. At arlong park he was shitting himself until he remembered he was fighting for nami. In his fight at alabasta he was cowardly until they started mocking and belittling Luffy, then he had the courage to fight back. He considers Merry part of the crew and he's fighting here to protect her, just like he did for the others in the past.

Cameron B

You caught most of Usopp's motivation, but here's one detail a lot of people don't realize- the earliest thing we know about Usopp's life is his own dad walking out on him, and his mom dying while they wait for him to return, which of course, would never happen. It makes how emotional Usopp is here a lot more understandable

Sneedlord9000

YES! ZORO'S WAY OF ACTING HERE WAS SO GOOD! MY MAN STAYED LOYAL AF! Sorry, u wrote so much, i had to read it in parts cuz lack of time lol

Lazar

LMAOO I TRIED TO UNDERSTAND, BUT USOPP THREW A FUC**NG TANTRUM😭

Lazar

Lucky being cold hearted 😭😭

ChosenAnimal

Peak episodes and peak reaction! It's really sad to see the crew like this. Even tho I've never been a huge fan of Usopp, I can admire his attitude sometimes lol. This arc will only get more interesting from now on tho. Many important reveals and twists incoming!

Kizaru

I will forever love these episodes. Water 7 is one of my favorite arcs partly because of the argument with Usopp! For starters, the crew members all have pocket money...which Nami gives them lmao. So no need to ask yourself where they have the money xD Next up, Usopp. You're totally right when you say he's acting like a bitch. Luffy is the pragmatic one in the situation. Usopp lets himself be guided by his emotions because the boat is a gift from his girlfriend AND because he has a special bond with it. It's interesting to see that out of all the nakamas, Oda chose Luffy and Usopp to stage a fight. From the beginning, he characterized them as being the two youngest characters (until the arrival of Chopper) and the most goofy to get to this point! No member of the crew has had a fight as emotionally draining as this one. But like you said, you have to respect Usopp. Oda didn't write about this argument for nothing. It's character development for Luffy (as a captain) but ESPECIALLY for Usopp (as a pirate AND as a man). What we must understand is that the character's moments of cowardice are above all there for comedy. Oda often uses humor to hide serious subtext or intentions. The truth is that Usopp is above all a 17-year-old boy without supernatural physical abilities who operates in a supernatural universe and crew. So obviously, his actions are often guided by fear. Obviously, an inferiority complex grew within him (especially after Ao Kiji's attack). Until his meeting with Luffy, Usopp's daily life consisted of playing with his 3 little sidekicks, telling stories to Kaya and driving his village crazy by acting like the Boy Who Cried Wolf. After meeting Luffy, he was asked to stop fearsome pirates, island destructions and coups d'Etat! Of course he's scared! We would be afraid for less than that! He's even incredibly brave when you think about it xD Beyond having physical capabilities lower than those of the other boys in the crew, he is also the member with the least adventurous past! But the thing is that Luffy and the others are aware that Usopp has great potential. That's why they never looked down on him and why Luffy asked him to join the crew. In the crew, the only one who doesn't have confidence in Usopp's potential is Usopp. He's the son of a great pirate who is one of Shanks' commanders AND he has a lot of resources actually. He just needs to find his way. Because even Nami, who doesn't have any supernatural physical abilities either, still found her place. She is the "big sister" of the crew and an outstanding navigator (AND Sanji's dominatrix). Usopp needs to grow up. But his relationship with Merry is special. And finally, I love Zoro's positioning in this conflict so much. It's from this arc that he asserts himself more and more as Luffy's right-hand man! He is Luffy's first mate so he will always be "more loyal" to him than the others. They are all loyal to Luffy of course but you understand. During the first fight between Luffy and Crocodile, Luffy asked the crew to leave. And we saw Zoro take command while respecting the order of his captain. These kinds of situations are becoming more and more frequent from Water 7 onwards.

Damn this Episode makes me cry again :(

LMAO WHAT A G MOVE πŸ’€

Lazar

That's facts lmaooo he said might as well put them in debt while I leave

Dr. Mrugalski

Yea, i remember him fighting, but most of the time, he was not brave. This is where he decided to be brave lol Insane! But i get it :/

Lazar

❀️❀️❀️

Lazar

So he lost 200 million and had the audacity to spend some more of Luffy's money to go and buy weapons to use on Luffy? Lmaooo

Lazar

I think Usopp had all those weapons because he knew what kind of moves to expect from Luffy. Like with every other enemy he did not know what to expect and could not prepare anything. Plus he has access to a lot of stores and markets in a big city like this, so he was actually able to make new weapons + this was his first chance to use dials i think.

Dr. Mrugalski

Lucky you take your time with family stuff life is too short not to do the little and big things in life

Jose Ferrer

Yep; pretty much called Lucky's entire arc of 'Confusion -> Annoyance -> Somewhat Impressed -> Emotional' over these 2 eps lol Now, I am a little bit biased, because Usopp is my 2nd favourite Straw Hat, but I do have to raise one point in his defense; it's kinda hard to remember because of how One Piece story plays out; but the last time we saw Usopp in a real fight was almost 120 episodes ago back in Alabasta. There was no real fight on Jaya, he wasn't able to take part in Luffy and Sanjis fight against the first Preist in Skypiea since he had to make sure they could all escape the forest afterwards, he gets one-shot by Enel because that's kinda what happens to everyone that isn't Luffy, G8 was a stealth mission where they weren't really able to fight, and the Foxy Arc.... was the Foxy arc. (And Aokiji was Aokiji) Needless to say, there is a *lot* of time that has passed for Usopp to make new inventions since he finally found his true courage in Alabasta, but this is the first time that he's actually had a chance to make use of them in a real fight that isn't him getting jumped by bounty hunters.
