When Ganfall is talking about "those that committed no sin", he's talking about the current citizens of Skypeia. The Sky People do live longer than people down below, but not *that* much longer. The people living there now are the great, great, great grandchildren of the people that were there when Jaya first appeared. Plus, they're also civilians; they're not part of the army so they've never actively fought against the Shandians. Ganfall's trying to negotiate because Jaya has become a necessary part of life to his people, and he's trying to get both groups to be able to share the land peacefully. As for the pumpkin thing... thats going to need to wait until a bit later to explain lol
