While neither side can claim to be innocent in the Pain arc the major difference is the Leaf was doing what they were doing to maintain their village while Nagato, Yahiko and Konan were just kids who wanted the fighting to stop so both can be seen as justifiable even though they both have blood on their hands. The Funato have none of that, all we saw was yeah like anybody they're human too with families who will miss them but they're still vile killing just to show they can pick on the weak; for as deplorable as some of the actions of the five villages at the very least they're doing so to protect their homelands but the Funato just want to be bullies so they have no right to victimhood. Again Boruto has no real stake in this war to convincingly stop it by himself, Ikada can forgive him but that still shouldn't be enough to just erase the hatred the other Funato have because they hate the Mist that much so a kid from the Leaf narratively shouldn't have that kind of power for it to be believable. This arc is just one big missed opportunity because Boruto should have been confronted by making the difficult choice of being able to kill a friend like Ikada because Kagura's death would have hit much harder if Ikada had been the one to kill him because Boruto would have been faced with a friend who killed another friend so the conflict would have been more interesting what decision Boruto would make either to kill Ikada or forgive him for directly causing his friend's death. A flunkie like Funamushi killed Kagura and Buntan killed him so they played it safe yet they still want to justify the hatred toward Boruto when he's not responsible for any of it.

2023-07-15 18:04:03 +0000 UTCSure, but even tho he was attacked first and he had the right to defend himself, thats not ganna change the feelings of brainwashed people and kids who loved the man he killed. Or had a hand in killing. The cycle of hatred is there regardless. It might not be done as well as in the Pain arc ( that arc is def one of the better written arcs our there ), but the point still stands. He will try to reason with Ikada, and since he is their prophet child, they should listen by proxy. Not to mention if he finds out his dad killed his brother. And yea, the mother and father are both deprolable lol

2023-07-15 12:41:00 +0000 UTCWhat are you talking about Lucky almost every Hokage who's defended their land has died. Chojuro's handling the situation the best he can considering he's being invaded by a literal army, the only ones who've perished have been shinobi but none of the civilians in the Mist have died so that's the best case scenario at the moment. Chojuro's not weak, he took down Tenma without his main sword which by the way if you think about it was Kagura's downfall he relied on the sword too much and not his own strength and got himself killed. This arc is terrible, the Funato are not victims Araumi's wife was just as bad as he was since she brought a kid into the battlefield and wished for him to continue their horrible piracy. The Funato spend their time conquering islands and killing many innocent people that's the true reason they want that device destroyed because once it's put to use they'll lose their control of the sea. Again this hatred of Boruto is so forced because Seiren went after him so he had every right to defend himself and Kagura was the one who injured her not Boruto and Funamushi took him down so avenging her should have been over for him but no he wanted that smoke and Buntan was the one who killed him not Boruto. This is a war with the mist and pirates so Boruto really has nothing to do with it because even if Ikada were to forgive him why should the other Funato who have as much hatred as Araumi; they don't know Boruto so why should they care what he says or thinks. Even though this is Boruto's series this is not the same situation as Naruto was in because Naruto really was the central figure of his war so everything literally hinged on him no matter what side you were on but this is a war Boruto has no real stake in.
