That man bore a mighty fate, a star of change. Am*** had wanted to cling to it, to that man's mighty fate. To the miniscule possibility of change." What Ish is saying is that it was the fate of J (Toad Sage) to go up against a mighty foe out of his league to change the world, with J dying in the process, but ultimately setting the path to change the outcome. Similarly to how J died against P to set the path for N (fox boy), Am*** wanted KK to share the same fate against Ish, to enable others to kill Ish for good.

You can't just put Karma on anybody as Amado said in Ep 213, choosing the right target is important. Jigen had the karma for centuries and still didn't work out, Isshiki has days left he ain't gonna waste time putting Karma on everybody he meets it will die out immediately 😅.
