1. First of all, RIP Rin 💔😭 2. For Mangekyo sharingan to be awakened, one needs to kill or witness the death of their best friend or someone they closely feel for. So for Kakashi and Obito it was Rin's death that awakened the Mangekyo Sharingan. This means that Kakashi always had the Mangekyo Sharingan ever since we met him in OG Naruto. But he was unaware of it. It was only after itachi showed Kakashi that there is a level beyond the sharingan that Kakashi realised about it's existence and worked hard to manifest that power and control it. 3. When Obito fought Minato, Obito had already gained the Mangekyo just like Kakashi had, but for Kakashi there was nobody to guide him with that. So he was unaware about it. However for Obito, he had Madara by his side, so he must have taught him about the Mangekyo in detail and that's probably why he was able to fight against Minato with the Mangekyo later during the 9 tails attack. 4. The white zetsu that always talks about poop was named Tobi. So Obito just took his identity and became the Tobi we knew. That's also why Obito acted goofy as Tobi because the original Tobi was goofy as hell. And as you saw, the original Tobi was a Good Boi. 5. Oh also when Kakashi's Mangekyo awakened, he was immediately knocked unconscious, because he isn't an uchiha. In case you were confused, Obito didn't do everything he did throughout the series simply because of Rin's death, but rather Rin being killed by Kakashi caused Obito to realize that everything Madara told him at the end of the previous episode was the truth and him wanting to use the infinite tsukoyomi was for everyone who was effected by the "hell" they live in to escape to a dream world where they could live the lives they always wanted, so Rin's death was merely the catalyst that made him see that.
