2025-01-29 23:23:51 +0000 UTCgood comment but a small correction. the FBI wasn't handling prohibition investigations at this time, it was the department of treasury. the attorney general is being paid for protection from federal prosecution since bootlegging was a federal crime. that's why in season 2 nucky wanted his election rigging case transferred from state court to federal court. we've also seen that nucky's organization also bribes treasury agents and local pd like the tabor heights sheriff. i imagine the majority of his expenses were bribes to officials.
