Yeah the thing with Brutus is he like a lot of Roman people believe in the republic. Rome at this time wasnβt an empire yet, Romans hated kings and dictators. If Julius Caesar becomes the one in charge and disposed of the government itβs unprecedented territory.

By the way I think the treasury was being stolen by soldiers loyal to Pompey who who deserted him they saw how much money it was...and maybe felt his cause was lost.
