The body rig is pretty much finished and all it needs is some refining and it's good to go. However, the face is another matter entirely. Facial rigs are quite complex and take a while to pull off good results, but before I can begin work on it, I needed actual eyes, a mouth, teeth, gums and a tongue to properly work on expressions.
Here are a few shots showing the different pieces.
This is the whole mouth piece. It might look weird at this point, but that's because it's just floating in space, once it's fitted inside her head, everything will look good!
The eyes have been quite a challenge to do and I'm still not happy with them. I'll probably keep tinkering with them until it's all done.
And the whole thing set up properly. As I mentioned, I'm not happy with the eyes yet, the mouth fit perfectly I think. And as you can see, I've begun to texture her body as well which is about 50% done. I'll have it all done by tomorrow.
Overall, things are going well and I plan on having the entire character finished during this upcoming week, with fur and everything.
