Okay, I guess I'm first to put you on.
The part about Blithe dying of his wounds in 1948 was false. It wasn't done maliciously, though. Due to his wound, on October 1, 1944, he was sent home and never returned to Europe. As he didn't keep in contact with the rest of Easy, they assumed he died of his injuries. In reality, Blithe returned to the Army and served during the Korean War. He ended up dying of a perforated ulcer in 1967. When the book the series was based on was written, the living Easy Company members interviewed still believed he died in 1948. They didn't find out until his family saw the miniseries and let them know what happened. By that time, both the book and miniseries were already done and out there.
