It’s a lot to keep track of. You guys are doing a damn good job keeping up! We’re seeing flashbacks in this episode between 2 years ago present. 2 years ago: Yelena , Zeke, & the Volunteers organized a meeting between Paradise Island & Hizuru (distant asian relatives to Mikasa.) The plan that was brought to them was to use the Rumbling as a deterrent (think a nuclear warning to the rest of the world.) That would buy the island enough time to start modernizing & advance their military with Hizuru’s help. After Zeke & Eren’s time had runs out, Historia would need to inherit the Beast Titan & start producing Royal Blood heirs. The Founder/Attack/Warhammer would be passed down to someone who is not Royal. Remember, to use the Founder’s full power outside the Royal line, their must always be a Royal Blood Titan /heir. Eren is in Jail in present day because he literally committed a warcrime & forced the island into the war with Marley & into Zeke’s plan before they were ready. This is only a couple days after they got back from Marley. The plot is not abandoned. There’s just a lot to address.
